American Building Company takes on masonry and asbestos removal jobs. A 2025 customer who found Tom Ricci, the owner, through Angie's List said he responded right away to a request for a mason, sent a detailed quote that same evening and repaired their front steps. A 2023 customer said Tom and his sons ground and mortared a spalling interior brick wall, repaired the interior and exterior brick work, and built an indoor cave to keep brick dust from spreading. A 2024 customer said the company rebuilt a large retaining wall. A 2023 Thumbtack customer said they prepped the chimney before repairing it, and asked them back to do a second chimney. A 2013 customer said Tom, the owner, removed asbestos found in their home quickly. A 2014 customer said the company removed old asbestos-wrapped pipes and asbestos flooring from their basement, along with mold removal and treatment. A 2016 customer said another contractor later found mastic still under the paint after an asbestos tile job, and that Tom said that since he reduced the price, "something had to give". A 2017 customer said the work did not hold up less than a year later: a trim corner was missing and insulation was not adequately done, which resulted in a re-freeze of pipes.
