“I had a good experience with American Overhead Doors (their Middletown location, not sure where else they are located).”
We used AOD years ago at our old house and had such a good experience that we called when we moved to a new place. Customer support, guidance, and installation were just as excellent now as then. LOVE the look of our new doors and how quiet they are! And while all the staff is excellent, a special shout-out to Todd, Troy, and Jennifer!
Had a technician sent to my home in Southington to first (last year) replace a broken garage door opener ... then recently on 9/9/26 a broken spring and the technician sent by Overhead Doors for both jobs was excellent! I believe his name is Minor. He was friendly, efficient, affable/explained everything in detail and just a fantastic representative of Overhead Doors. Great company to begin with, very responsive and pricing reasonable ... and the fact they sent such a great technician makes me recommend the company highly to anyone. Keep up the great work!
High pressure sales and overpricing for their services. Get a written quote with any and all contractors.
Our garage door is original to the house (1956) and one of the springs broke. I looked around and saw that American Overhead Doors in Middletown had a really good reputation, so I requested a quote via their website. I received a call and we set up a time for them to come out and give me an estimate to repair the door. The gentleman arrived right on time, assessed the damage and gave me a detailed estimate that outlined all the parts needed and their costs. Very friendly, very professional, very knowledgeable. Sadly, I can't remember his name for this review. The prices were pretty much exactly what I thought so I agreed to have them make the repairs. I asked when he thought they'd be able to start and he said within a week. I got a call from Jennifer the next day asking if they could start tomorrow! Oh, heck yeah! I called my wife to let her know and she asked me to see if they could replace the weatherstripping along the bottom of the door. I called Jennifer back, asked if they could add weather stripping replacement to the service and she said she would, but depending on my specific door, they may not be able to do it in the same visit. I understood. After all, the door is 70 years old! The technician, Troy, arrived right on time and got right to work. When he was done, he showed me everything he had done, everything he replaced, and advised me to keep an eye on one specific part of the original door track mount. I understood and thanked him for pointing it out. He really knew his business and like everyone at AOD that I dealt with was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It was a genuine pleasure doing business with American Overhead Door. When the old door is ready to be replaced, I know exactly who I am calling! Thanks AOD!
We were very pleased with our experience with AOD. Pete did a great job with the removal of our old solid wood doors and the install of our new system. Thank you
