Anderson Inspections is a Manchester, New Hampshire home inspection business run by owner-operator Matthew Anderson, who holds an active New Hampshire home inspector license verified against the state registry. The company offers visual inspections, water and radon testing, and custom-contract inspections, and the site cites an InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors) affiliation. The written history here is dated and mixed. In two reviews from 2020, customers described him as prompt, thorough, knowledgeable, and upfront about what he found, with one saying they would use him again — "worth the money." A 2021 review takes a different view: the reviewer, who says the inspection was for a buyer purchasing their house rather than their own hire, wrote that in their opinion Anderson "has no clue about older homes." There's nothing more recent to go on — all three reviews are from 2020–2021 — so it's worth asking directly about experience with older housing stock before booking, especially given the one dissenting account.
So I want to start off saying I did not hire this person. I am selling my house and the buyers found this person. Everything I am about to write is my opinion and you can take it for what it is. In my opinion Matt Anderson has no clue about older homes what so ever! On top of that I felt like he was a know it all who has to justify his existence. He is they type of person who no one liked in high school, not trying to be mean, but that was my interpretation from the second I spoke to him. I own one of the oldest houses in my town. The structure of the home was repaired by a mason who has almost 50 years of experience and a carpenter who has over 25 years experience. The carpenter exclusively works on old homes and is the best carpenter I have ever met. Matt who I do not believe has any construction experience, other then taking an 80 hour course to be a "certified home inspector" verbally ripped apart their work. Mean while I have a report for a home inspector, who has over 30 years experience, a building degree from Northeastern University, was one of the first ever licensed home inspectors in New Hampshire and has actual building experience. His report blows Matt's theories out of the water, but that was not before Matt scared my buyers away. No house is perfect a there are definitely some small minor issues, but to say the the structure is no good is absolutely ridiculous. Steel I beams were installed to hold up the chimney of the house, its a central chimney constructed house, so the chimney holds the house up. The steel I beams were installed under the original wood beams that are laid side by side touching each other. The beams are around square and 8 inches. There is dry rot on the outer half inch and in some places a quarter inch. The rest of the beams are completely cured and hard as a rock. I am not a construction expert, but I did put on an addition on, by myself, to my old home in New Jersey, that passed all building inspections. My point being is that I am not oblivious to construction. Good luck with this guy, it is my opinion that he is a know it all that has to justify his existence. I am sure Matt's response will be "I am only doing my job" But that would be a lie. His job is to make recommendations based on facts and evidence not to justify his existence .
We will use Matt again, he was up front and let us know what was wrong and didn't Candy coat it. He was very professional and on time. He was worth the money 💰💰
Prompt, thorough, knowledgeable and courteous, highly recommend!
