Applause Painting is a Mashpee husband-and-wife operation, Scott and Celeste, that has been painting Cape Cod homes for decades — Angi's listing puts them at 46 years of experience, and several reviewers describe using them for 15 years or more. The record here is unusually consistent: 25 reviews across Google and Angi, every single one five stars, with the same names, Scott and Celeste, and occasionally a third crew member, Richie, coming up again and again. What people describe isn't just painting but judgment. In a 2023 review, Scott advised a homeowner to have only part of a deck repainted rather than the whole thing, telling them the floor boards could make it another season or two — advice that saved the customer money rather than upselling the full job. In another 2023 review, a customer called on a company that had already started a paint job and stalled; Scott came out, gave a fair estimate to finish it, and completed the work to the customer's satisfaction. The specific work described ranges widely: repainting a full exterior with severe peeling shingles back to a smooth finish that a 2023 review says still looked new three years later, changing kitchen cabinet colors rather than replacing the cabinets outright, removing wall murals before repainting bedrooms, touching up drywall and stain damage left behind by a flooring job, and power washing fences, patios and a driveway. A 2023 review from a Cape Cod property manager describes the company repainting the interiors and exteriors of several rental properties, praising the prep work and finish quality across all of them. Another reviewer, also in a 2023 review, describes using the company for both personal and commercial properties for decades and says they wouldn't consider anyone else. There's no documented complaint anywhere in the record. The main thing worth knowing is that most of the written record dates to 2022 and 2023, with the most recent review from January 2025, so it's worth confirming the team's current schedule and pricing directly. For interior or exterior painting on Cape Cod, especially a job involving color matching, prep work, or repairs alongside the paint, this is a long-tenured, consistently well-reviewed choice.
