Arpin International Group handles moves across oceans, and one Google reviewer said a move from NYC to Brussels, Belgium took their stress level "from an 11 to a 2." The company says it has been in business 126 years. Its BBB profile describes Arpin Group, Inc. as a holding company for Arpin International Group, Inc and FastPAC Forwarding, Inc., and says the business provides moves across the country or around the world. That Brussels customer said Iva explained the process in detail and gave a realistic estimate, then handed them to Jennifer, their moving coordinator, who coordinated with the Belgian counterpart and explained the forms, timing and customs. Their things arrived in good shape, with no breakage and nothing missing. A customer moving to Spain said Arpin coordinated and secured all the components of the move within a one-month window set by a tight home sale closing, and that all their possessions arrived intact with the packing materials taken away. A customer moving internationally said the delivery team brought their furniture into the apartment quickly, and that the items inspected so far appeared to have arrived in very good condition. A customer relocating from the US to Portugal reported unexpected surcharges totaling $1,200 and the loss of several shipment containers, and objected to a $757.75 surcharge attributed to global fuel price fluctuations that they said contradicted their original contract. A 3-star Google reviewer on a company move said they "pack everything quite fast but the delivery take forever," that the packers left behind a few things and broke a few more, and that two pairs of sunglasses were missing when the boxes arrived. A Justice Department page names Arpin International Group among seven freight forwarding companies that agreed to pay the United States $666,237.
“Seven freight forwarding companies – Air Land Forwarders, Arpin International Group, Covan International, Jet Forwarding, and SIRVA, the parent company of Allied Freight Forwarding, Global Worldwide and North American Van Lines – agreed to pay the United States $666,237 for allegations of bid rigging in violation of the False Claims Act, the Justice Department announced today.”
I recently used Arpin services to move me from NYC to Brussels, Belgium, and they took care of everything, and took care of lowering the stress level from an 11 to a 2. Iva was wonderful explaining the process in details, provided a realistic estimate, taking into account some aspects other companies would let go unsaid (until the final estimate, way down the line) and handed me over to Jennifer, my moving coordinator. Jennifer was extremely good at it, coordinating with the Belgian counterpart, and was on top of every communication, forms needed to be filled, and explaining that whole process, timing expectations, & customs. My stuff arrived on time (more or less, some of it is beyond their control) and in good shape: no breakage, nothing missing. I know every international move is a unique experience, but I cannot praise their support enough: I had a great experience with Arpin, well above my expectations. Kudos to the entire team, and their counterparts (a NJ company did the removal in NYC.) I am very very satisfied by the way it all went down. They deserve a 5 ❤️
Can't talk about price because this was a company moving. The service was ok, they pack everything quite fast but the delivery take forever. Overall the service was ok just three things to emphasize, the packers left behind a few things and broke a few more, one of them as soon as they arrive, asked about the wifi password and when the boxes arrive I noticed that two pairs of sun glasses where missing.
I selected Arpin based on customer testimonials, industry certifications and their specialty in cross-Atlantic moves to Spain. Arpin was able to coordinate and secure all the components of our move working within a one month window due to a tight home sale closing period. I found their customer service representatives in the U.S. and Spain to be professional and personable. Their moving vendors' staff, both in the U.S. and Spain were efficient and effective - all our possessions arrived intact with all packing materials taken away. I would recommend Arpin International to any family embarking on an international move.
I experienced significant challenges during my international relocation from the US to Portugal, specifically regarding unexpected surcharges totaling $1,200 and the unfortunate loss of several shipment containers. Potential customers should exercise caution, as the final costs substantially exceeded the initial quote and the service failed to meet expectations regarding the accountability and delivery of my personal items. In response to Arpin: While I accepted the costs associated with the necessary monthly storage during the interim, I strongly disagree with the unexpected $757.75 surcharge attributed to global fuel price fluctuations. This arbitrary fee structure is concerning, as it shifts geopolitical risk onto the customer without providing any reciprocal mechanism for cost adjustments should prices decline. Your representative cited the situation in the Strait of Hormuz as justification for this additional charge. This unexpected adjustment contradicts our original contract, and I believe these external costs should not be passed on to me after our agreement was finalized.
Everything went as we expected, and the delivery team brought our furniture into the apartment quickly and efficiently. From the items we have been able to inspect so far, everything appears to have arrived in very good condition. Many of our household belongings are still boxed, so we will continue to assess everything over time. Based on what we have seen so far, we are very pleased with the service. What truly stood out throughout this entire experience was the human aspect of the company. From start to finish, we were treated with kindness, compassion, professionalism, and respect. Moving internationally can be stressful, but the team consistently made us feel supported and valued. The logistics and coordination were handled smoothly, but it was the people behind the process who made the biggest difference. Their communication, patience, and genuine care turned what could have been a challenging experience into a positive one. We are grateful to everyone involved and would not hesitate to recommend their services to others planning an international move.
