Asphalt Division is a Framingham paving outfit whose customers keep describing the same thing: not just a new surface, but the water problem underneath it. Pull up the roots, re-cut the grade, push the runoff away from the garage — that is the job people write about. The volume behind that is real. 107 Google ratings averaging 5.0, 41 reviews at 4.8 on Angi and again on HomeAdvisor, another 30 at 5.0 on Thumbtack, running from 2021 to now. John, the owner, turns up by name again and again, usually on site while the work happens rather than after it. The detailed accounts are the convincing ones. A customer writing in 2025 said the finished asphalt was "smooth like a pool table" and lined up cleanly with the garage, front walk and street — and that a neighbour booked the same job days later. In a 2024 account, a homeowner described a sixty-year-old driveway dug out entirely, roots pulled from underneath, a new base laid and the edges tidied. Another in 2025 had a drive removed and replaced in two days, with the owner there for most of it. Two things pull hard the other way. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration — number 212321, in the name Asphalt Division Corp — shows as expired on the state registry. And the Better Business Bureau grades the company C+, pointing to a complaint it did not answer. That complaint has a face. A homeowner writing in January 2024 said a $20,000 driveway came out improperly graded, flooding their garage whenever it rained, with a lip running its whole length so it read as two driveways at different levels. They wrote that the owner agreed to repair it, then stopped taking their calls, and disputed that any guarantee applied. It is one account against a long positive run — but it is specific, and it concerns exactly the grading this company is otherwise praised for getting right. Before booking residential work, get the registration status in writing and put the warranty terms on the contract rather than leaving them verbal — that is precisely what the 2024 dispute turned on. It is also fair to ask how they handle a grade that doesn't drain once the crew has packed up. For a driveway, parking lot or private road where drainage is the real problem, they have a long, consistent and unusually well-corroborated history of getting it right. Settle the paperwork first.
Great service, did work quickly and professionally. Completely redid our asphalt driveway. Pulled up roots, fixed a drainage problem we had, redid grade, and repaved with new smooth properly graded surface. Did everything they promised.
I hired Asphalt to handle the Bolton property. driveway, lot and some foundation repair. The crew was very professional, worked efficiently so fast that the quality work was done well within budget and well before deadline.I am certainly a customer for life.
John and his crew did an excellent job on our Weymouth property. The driveway looks beautiful, seamlessly levels with the storage lot and garage. Good solid work by a standup contractor with a first rate team. Very professional, highly recommended
I love the quality of how it looks
My boss asked me to write this a little while ago. John and his crew handled the asphalt pavement upgrade over our gravel lot. They performed all the necessary things to waterproof and all weather seal the installation. The team worked fast especially considering the extent of the upgrade, repainting new lines, repaving the sidewalk, installing drainage. We're very pleased to now have a maintenance contractor we can rely on to do an excellent job.
