Ayer & Goss

Ayer & Goss sells fuel oils and propane, according to its BBB page, which also lists self service gasoline and diesel pumps in Henniker and Bradford. Its website names a service area of thirteen towns, among them Henniker, Antrim, Bow, Concord, Hillsboro, Hopkinton and Weare. A recent customer singled out propane delivery driver Andy as friendly and dependable. A recent customer whose family has been with the company for a year said they never worry about their propane delivery. In a 2024 review written after the snow and ice storm, a customer whose standby generator was nearly out of propane said the only way in was a single lane dirt road through another town, and that the refill arrived 3 hours after the call. A 2022 customer who called right as the office opened, with less than 10% in the tank, said they were there within the hour. A 2022 customer said Ayer & Goss had been their oil and propane supplier for 16 years, that deliveries stayed on schedule even in the 2018 ice storm, and that the pre-buy plan was a significant saving over the past 3 years. A 2021 customer new to Henniker who needed oil that day said they responded quickly. A 2021 customer on automatic delivery said Mike checked the pressure on all their propane appliances. A 2024 customer who wanted a propane tank set up and filled for an RV in a barn said two technicians did a site inspection, but the company later emailed that it would not place or fill a tank at the barn; that 2024 customer faulted the communication and attitude of some employees. A 2022 customer switching a rental to Ayer & Goss said a driver was sent twice over a month and delivered 0 gallons instead of the tank being swapped, and that the house froze. The company told that 2022 customer it could not legally deliver propane to another provider's tank but could swap the tank within a few days. That 2022 customer also wrote that a promised supervisor call never came, and that the company is owned by a much larger fuel provider.
