When nobody else could find a furnace that would fit a mobile home, S&B Mechanical did. In an October 2024 review the homeowner wrote that the crew located and installed a compatible unit after other companies had come up empty, and that they left the place neat. That is the kind of call this Bridgewater shop takes: the awkward heating problem with a deadline on it. S&B says it opened in 2004 and is co-owned by Jeff Savoie and Paul Bowes, handling residential and commercial heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and custom sheet-metal and duct fabrication, with 24/7 emergency coverage. Its stated territory runs from the three Bridgewaters out through Raynham, Easton, Sharon, Canton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Westwood and Walpole. Its BBB page carries an A+ grade and accreditation dating to 2018, though that page lists 41 years in business against the 2004 opening date on the company's own site. The site also lists a Refrigeration Contractor licence, RC-148082, and a Master Sheet Metal licence — the company's own entries, so ask to see them. Technicians get named. A January 2025 customer lost heat on the coldest day of that winter and wrote that the tech traced it to a loose cover that had kept the oil from burning cleanly, cleaned up the soot and explained what had happened. Another January 2025 homeowner met with at least seven companies before choosing S&B and had a steam boiler replaced in under twelve hours. In December 2023 a customer who had collected several estimates for a boiler and furnace replacement picked them on price and quality of installation. This June, a homeowner wrote that Nick explained each part of the repair, took every question, and fixed a water heater that had not been draining properly while he was there. Two customers had a very different experience. A May 2025 reviewer wrote, in one line, that the company took a down payment and did not come back. In October 2023 another reported a service call estimated at two hours of labor and billed as four, with the back cover of an internal component left sitting on the floor. S&B is a sensible call for a furnace, boiler or AC replacement where the fit is difficult and the heat needs to be back on, and for refrigeration or duct work a general HVAC outfit would sub out. Before any deposit changes hands, get the scope, the labor estimate and the payment schedule in writing — that is precisely where both unhappy customers ran into trouble.
