Sixteen reviews on file, every one of them five stars, and the same first name runs through nearly all of them: Matt. Bean Landscaping and Construction works out of Danvers and covers the North Shore, and the company says it has been at this since 2013, pairing lawn work with the heavier hardscape and construction jobs. The stone is the through-line. Writing in July 2025, one homeowner walked through roughly 480 square feet of paver patio, a fence surround and low-voltage lighting, all built to a layout they had reviewed beforehand; another that same month described a retaining wall rebuilt from the ground up. A 2023 customer listed a new walkway, granite steps and lit railings, and said Matt Bean was the most professional contractor they had hired in years. The newest account, from July 2026, covers front steps and a deck remodel — two meetings to talk through ideas, product suggestions matched to a budget, then the build. Speed comes up almost as often as craftsmanship. A homeowner writing in May 2025 said other companies had quoted "prices through the roof" for a patio they clearly did not want to touch; Bean took the job, and once the snow melted the crew was in and out in four working days, even rerouting the sprinkler system on the way. Another May 2025 review described a muddy yard turned into new sod and two patios inside a week, and a 2023 customer had a half-acre lot regraded, loamed and seeded. One thing worth pinning down is scope. A 2023 review credits the company with an entire backyard pool project — digging the hole, setting the pool, plumbing, electrical, pavers, stone work and landscaping — so if your job crosses into licensed trades, ask who actually performs that portion and confirm it with the state. The written history is also concentrated: it opens in early 2023 and runs to July 2026, with the bulk of it posted on Google rather than spread across several platforms, so there is less independent corroboration than the star count suggests at a glance. For a patio, a walkway, a retaining wall, granite steps or a yard rebuilt from the dirt up, this is the kind of outfit those reviews keep describing — a small crew with the owner on the job. Get the design and the material spec in writing before anyone breaks ground, and settle up front who handles any plumbing or electrical the project needs.
We had a great experience working with Bean Landscaping on our front steps and deck remodel. From our first conversation, Matt was knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to work with. He met with us twice to talk through ideas, offered thoughtful design recommendations, and helped us choose products that fit both our vision and budget. The finished project exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were excellent, and the quality of the work really shows. Throughout the project, Matt was always available to answer questions and welcomed our feedback. Any concerns we raised were addressed right away, which gave us a lot of confidence in the process. We're extremely happy with the final result and would absolutely work with Matt and the Bean Landscaping team again. If you're looking for a company that delivers quality work and stands behind what they do, we highly recommend Bean Landscaping.
Bean Landscaping did absolutely incredible work on our retaining wall, the before and after pictures speak for themselves. From the start Matt was great to work with and helped us understand what would be necessary to get the job done right, all while staying within a reasonable budget. Matt’s team was very hard working and respectful. We were impressed and very appreciative of their diligence in making sure this wall was rebuilt with care. A major facelift to our property and we are happy we went with Bean Landscaping for the job. Highly recommended!
We’re extremely satisfied with our choice to work with Bean Landscaping on our backyard. Prior to the job, communication was thorough and Matt worked with us on the design we had in mind for the layout. For the installation, Matt and his team did a great job installing about 480 sq ft of paver patio, a fence surround, and low voltage lighting — all while keeping true to a design we reviewed beforehand. The crew worked through some pretty hot days and were always responsive if we had questions about the installation or the next steps. I always felt they were honest and genuinely wanted us to be satisfied with the work. As the job wrapped, they seeded any areas of lawn where the trucks came through and also re-routed some sprinkler lines. I recommend Matt and his team for your project, and we certainly reach out to him for any other future projects!
Matt and his crew did a fantastic job on our new patio! They were professional, efficient and answered any questions we had. I highly reccomend Bean Landscaping for any project you are considering!
Changed my yard from a muddy mess to green lush grass within a week. They installed brand new sod and two patios for the front and back of my house. Can’t recommend these guys enough.
