Bill Cuqua is a Walpole, MA electrician. On Thumbtack he says he has 20 plus years in the business and can handle any and all electrical needs. In a 2026 review, a customer wrote that Billy got their generator back up and running and took the time to show them a few extra items. In a 2025 review, another customer said he helped change their Westinghouse generator and test it, drained the fuel, and helped change the oil on a snowblower to get it winter ready. A separate 2025 review says Bill upgraded an electric system at a reasonable price and finished in a relatively quick time frame. In 2024, a customer wrote that they had hired Bill for several jobs at two different homes and called him communicative, fair and fast. A 2024 review objected to being charged for an estimate, including for noticing a GFI switch was off and turning it on, and called the estimate exorbitant next to lower estimates the customer got from others.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Bill Cuqua - Electrician. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
Standard receptacle swaps — a new dedicated circuit is a bigger job ($350–$750).
Flush mounts, pendants, chandeliers — hung on existing boxes.

Typical electrical project around $820
Billy was extremely helpful in getting my generator back up and running. He took the time to show me a few extra items as well. Punctual, insightful and kind. Highly recommend!
Billy was great. Showed up in time and was professional. He helped change my Westinghouse generator and helped to test out. Also drained the fuel. Also snowblower helped change oil and get winter ready. Very helpful and not a nickle and some person. Play his experience showed on showing me tips how to start the generator.
Bill has done a great job upgrading electric system at reasonable price and finished it at relatively quick time frame. He’s a highly skilled professional that I recommend everyone who looks for value and quality at the same time which is rarely found nowadays.
Don't charge for estimates. Also, noticing that a GFI switch was off and along to turn it on doesn't warrant a charge when you are providing estimates for something else. I mentioned this to other electricians who said that I was taken for a ride. I got 3 other estimates from who I selected one and nobody charged me for estimates. Please don't be on thumbtack if you cannot afford it. Also, your estimate was exorbitant. I got way lower estimates for the same work done in the same manner from others and got it done from one.
Bill’s workmanship is second to none. I’ve hired him for several jobs at two different homes. He communicative, fair, and fast!
