Copperline Electric is a one-man-grown-to-a-crew electrical shop out of Walpole, and the same word shows up review after review: responsive. The company says owner Mike McCarthy started out doing electrical work for family and friends part-time and grew Copperline through referrals over what it now describes as 17 years in business; its Massachusetts electrician license is verified active under Copperline Electric LLC. The biggest chunk of recent work is EV charger installs — dedicated circuits, Level 2 chargers, a walkthrough on using the app afterward — and the same pattern holds whether the job is a small repair or a full panel upgrade: text back promptly, show up on time, clean up when they're done. One reviewer this spring said other companies either no-showed on a water-meter-socket repair or tried to sell an $8,000 panel overhaul before Mike came in with a right-sized fix; another described Copperline finding a simpler wiring approach that cut a competitor's plan by about 70% in cost. In two 2024 reviews, customers describe same-day emergency response — a tripped breaker fixed during a freezing cold snap that threatened a hot tub, and a Friday-afternoon outage tied to a gas shutoff. Google shows 118 ratings averaging 5 stars, and the reviews on file run from 2022 through this year without a complaint among them — panel replacements, rewiring in older homes, lighting and pendant installs, and a handful of small commercial jobs (a martial arts studio's lighting, a retail buildout) alongside the residential work. Several customers who compared quotes against other electricians call the pricing reasonable or competitive rather than a bargain rate, and the state license check confirms the credential rather than taking the website's word for it. There isn't much to flag before booking here — the written record is consistent and the license is verified, not just claimed. Worth confirming directly is scope for anything beyond core electrical work: the ductless mini-split and heat-pump installation the company advertises on its own site doesn't yet show up in the quoted reviews. For an EV charger, a panel upgrade, or an electrical repair in an older Massachusetts home, Copperline is the kind of shop customers keep calling back for the next project.
We chose Copperline to install a Level 2 charger in our garage with a dedicated 60-amp 240V circuit to power our new EV. The electrician was prompt, professional and courteous with a level of expert craftsmanship that shows they are dedicated to service and their standing in the electrical trade.
I am incredibly impressed with this electrician’s work! The original plan provided by the company was quite complex and expensive, but when he came in, he found a simpler, more direct solution that saved me a huge amount—about 70% in cost! Plus, it was done quickly. I’m so grateful for his outstanding work!
Mike is the best! Fast service as always. Gets the job done and doesn’t make it a big deal.
I recently had an issue where my outdoor water meter socket had to be either repaired or replaced. I went thru MANY different contractors to try and get quotes. A few pulled NO SHOW/NO CALLS when I took days off of work to meet them. One Big Company (built for a King) sent over a rep and wanted to do my whole electrical panel over for almost $8k when I didn't need all that....talk about trying to UPSELL!! Anyway I found Copperline and Mike (the owner) immediately came over and then drew up a quote. It was EXACTLY what I thought was needed. He had a team come over and they repaired my issue within 4 hours....I was TRULY amazed. Having work done on my house is always an ORDEAL bc contractors just operate in their own world, at their own pace, and by their own rules, but I can safely say I now have a TRUSTED Electrician if I ever need work done on my house. Thanks Again!! LS
I highly recommend Copperline Electric. Mike, the owner, responded promptly to my text message and explained thoroughly the electrical work process that he was going to perform for the EV charger installation. I also had him install pendant lights for my kitchen. All came out satisfactorily. I appreciate his feedback or input he provided based on his experience which was spot on as to where the charger should be located in the garage and how many lights would be appropriate for the size of my kitchen island. His team did a nice job vacuuming and cleaning the work area after they finished the installations. He also showed me and walked me through what he had done and how he did it. I definitely will call him again for any future electrical work I need. Glad to find an electrician that I could trust with good quality of work and reasonable price.
