Bill's Landscaping LLC is an Enfield landscaping company whose website lists residential and commercial landscape maintenance and installation, a tree care division, winter management and solar site services. The company says it has been in business 31 years. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0607845, is active on the state registry, held by BILL'S LANDSCAPING LLC. A recent customer said Bill's gave a fair quote for trimming overgrown bushes, said it would take two weeks, and had it done two weeks later. A customer who hired them for tree service said the result came out great and that a skid steer pushed back years of leaves, brush and small saplings along the property line. The same customer described trouble with the office: an appointment that was moved and only came to light when they called to confirm. A 2025 customer said they hired the company to level a small area for an above-ground pool, that the ground was dug beyond what was needed and into a slope, and that one side of the pool ended up nearly half a foot lower than the other. A 2024 customer who hired them for yard maintenance said the grass was cut well below 3 inches during a heat wave and the blades cut into the ground in several areas. A recent reviewer said they had watched crews dump collected grass clippings into the brook at Beaman Brook Apartments in Bloomfield. A 2022 customer said they came within the week and leveled the side and backyard after an old retaining wall fell.
In the summer of tornados and a derecho, I requested a quote on having my over grown bushes trimmed. My last quote from another contractor, came 2 months ago, they told me 2 weeks, and I never heard form them. Bill's Landscaping gave a a fair quote and told me 2 weeks. 2 weeks later it was done, and looks great. I will definitely hire them again for all future landscaping needs.
Had an encounter with one of your employees on the road. Guy was so far up my bumper flipping me off as I was going over the speed limit by about 10 miles an hour. With your name blasted on the truck. I never write reviews but you guys hire some winners.
I do not recommend using Bill’s Landscaping LLC. I have personally witnessed crews dumping collected grass clippings directly into the brook at Beaman Brook Apartments in Bloomfield for years. This isn’t an isolated incident—it’s something I’ve repeatedly observed over time. Dumping yard waste into a brook is irresponsible and can negatively affect water quality and aquatic life. I expect a professional landscaping company to care for the environment, not use a local waterway as a disposal site. I hope the company changes these practices and properly disposes of its yard waste in the future.
I have mixed feelings about my experience with Bill's Landscaping. On the positive side, the actual workers who performed the work were professional, hardworking, and did a good job. The tree service completed on June 15th came out great, and I am very happy with the final results. I also had them use a skid steer to push back years of leaves, debris, brush, and small saplings along my property line. While I was hoping for a little more clearing, the work was reasonable for the price paid and opened up the property considerably. The reason for the 3-star rating is the communication and scheduling. My original appointment was scheduled for May 5th. After waiting most of the day, I called multiple times and was repeatedly told someone would call me back. No one ever did. The appointment was eventually rescheduled after I contacted the office again the following day. The communication issues continued throughout the project. On more than one occasion, I had to call the company myself to find out whether crews were coming or whether appointments had been rescheduled. Most notably, my June tree service appointment had been moved, but I only learned about it because I called the office to confirm. Had I not called, I'm not sure I would have known the appointment had changed. As a customer, especially one who works an unusual schedule and has to arrange access to the property, I should not have to repeatedly track down information about appointments. A simple phone call, text message, or email from the company would have prevented most of the frustration. In the end, the quality of the work was good and the crews deserve credit for that. However, the office communication and scheduling process needs significant improvement. If the customer service matched the quality of the field crews, this would easily have been a 5-star review.
