Blanchard Design Build is a carpentry and remodeling business that says it has been in business for 31 years. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2026 customer said Jason completed a basement remodel for $18.375: he fixed the main beam, reinforced the basement ceiling with studs and blocking, enclosed the interior walls with sheetrock and put insulation above the ceiling. A 2024 customer wrote that the front porch flooring and stairs were replaced and a sturdy railing added within a week. A 2024 customer from Essex said they were available to start within 2 weeks, showed up on time, and had the porch's slab, framing, roof and windows installed within 5 days. A 2024 customer said Jason removed the existing countertops, leveled the cabinets, and came back after the new countertops went in to install support brackets and molding. A 2023 customer said Jason put two handrails down old stairways to the basement of an 1856 duplex, working around odd angles, failing brick and a post, up to Burlington code, and finished in 5 hours including material runs and repositioning a doorknob. Vermont lists its home improvement contractor registration, 174.0000397, as active, held by BLANCHARD DESIGN BUILD.
Jason completed the basement remodel project for $18.375. He fixed the main beam and reinforced the basement ceiling with well-placed studs and blocking. He enclosed the interior walls with sheetrock and put insulation above the ceiling. I am very happy with the work that was done and highly recommend this man. You will not find a more honest contractor. He goes out of his way to make sure that you understand everything about the project. You will definitely think of Jason as a good friend who has your back.
Very professional and respectful. Listened to my concerns. Work completed was well done and completed in a timely way. Original project was to install support beams in the basement, but then he also made time to do an additional unplanned project- rebuilding an upstairs wall.
Jason was great to work with. We got in contact him from Home Advisor after getting an initial quote from a local contractor for 45,000 more than what Jason was able to do the work for! We were so pleased with his services - he was great at communicating, up front, helped us come up with ideas, and just generally was great to work with.
Replaced front porch flooring, stairs and added a sturdy railing within a week. The final product is attractive and very well built. Blanchard Design/Build will be #1 choice with future projects!
