I decided last year to bite the bullet and invest a good deal of money in a kitchen renovation. We were initially thrilled when Bob was attentive and designed an amazing new space, proposing ideas that we had never thought of. Once the project began, I found correspondences with Bob to be cryptic, abbreviated and lacking courtesy. We ran into a major flooring issue which created tension between the subcontractor, myself and Bob. After that point, I did not feel comfortable communicating with Bob at all. It was clear that Bob did not want the flooring subcontractor or any of the carpenters to correspond with me, the homeowner. Yet, he did not come to the property or reach out to me or stop by to see how things were coming along at any point during the 6 month renovation. After Bob laid off 2 of the primary carpenters on the job, I had to guide the punch list items toward the end of the project. The last person to finish up with a cabinet reinstallation was brand new. It was my expectation that a company such as this would provide superior workmanship , but this did not turn out to be the case. The demolition debris did not go right into a dumpster, but onto the grass driveway, reportedly because there were no dumpsters available. The spackling was not smoothed out properly, the molding on the ceiling was left with gaps, there are screw holes along the refrigerator panel. Overall, I am thrilled to have a beautiful new space. However, the proposed 3 month job turned into 6 months , and though I understand construction timelines are often delayed, because of the lack of communication, oversight and attention to detail, I would not recommend BPI.

Without a doubt, BPI is the contractor you want to work with for any home improvement project or repair you require. I highly recommend BPI for their professionalism and communication. I’ve never been left wondering what the total cost of a project would be or what drove the cost. My first project with BPI estimated a day for a repair, but I was pleasantly surprised when it only took half of a day, which is all I was charged for. For the larger home improvement project I had, BPI was diligent to ensure the work and materials required aligned with my modest budget. I was provided with an itemized list of the materials BPI would be supplying for the project along with a fixed price. Of course, BPI’s contract had terminology for surprises given that no-one knows what’s behind a wall until it’s opened. Despite this terminology, BPI was well within reason on an additional charge when a surprise was encountered with my home improvement project. Additionally, BPI was always quick to respond anytime I had questions about variable cost items (i.e. porta-potty or dumpster rental). Not only is BPI professional when it comes to their contracts, the crew they have is top notch. Everyone sent to my house has been highly skilled, focused, and courteous. Not only have I been impressed with the quality of work on every project, I’ve also been extremely happy with how everyone from BPI has conducted themselves. Furthermore, everyone has always been considerate of the non-work areas around the house (i.e. being sure to wear booties to walk through the house and not bang into furniture). Anytime I was not home while work took place, I never returned to any unexpected surprises or messes. While both of the above have been major factors for why I’m happy to leave BPI with such a good review, the reason why I will always reach out to BPI first for any future home repairs or improvement projects is because I know I can trust BPI and they really seem to care about their customer’s needs. Hands-down, BPI is the contractor you can count on to hear your needs and provide quality results!

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with the professionals at BPI. Bob and his team were great to work with. Our kitchen remodel was completed on time and on budget and the outcome surpassed our expectation. Bob takes the time to discuss what is important to YOU. Bob made suggestions ,which we found to be very helpful in modernizing our kitchen, without going over our budget. The process, from design to completion, was smooth. Hired this contractor in Feb 2016 to repair water damage in several rooms of house. Original project was suppose to take 6 weeks to complete and ended up taking 12 weeks. Work that was done was very inferior quality in fact one of the workers doing finished carpentry was actually a "trainee" that had never done this type of work. Another example was ceiling in bathroom was completed before putting in a combo fan/light appliance resulting in a hole in the ceiling that was never repaired. I could continue with more but just suggest you never chose this contractor if you want to avoid nightmares.

We have worked with Bob at Building Professionals for several years now. Prior to working with Bob on a full kitchen remodel we had worked with several other contractors, with varying degrees of dissatisfaction. Each contractor prior to Bob was predictable. Often difficult to reach, poor at time/project management, and consistently failing to properly document the agreement or change orders in a professional manner. Bob is consistently great. He is very professional, excellent at managing all aspects of a project, sourcing materials, design and construction. He is so consistently good that we will not call another contractor. We've used Bob for 3 other projects since he remodeled our kitchen 7 years ago. Presently, he's building a new entry for our home.
