Burlington Moving Company holds 4.7 stars from 72 ratings on Google and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau. Its website says it uses eco-friendly moving materials. A recent customer said BMC was available last minute for a local move. A recent customer said everything arrived and nothing was broken. A recent customer who had a 1pm closing said the movers were an hour and a half late, that furniture was not wrapped and taped as asked, and that a dining room table was gouged and scratched, an oak credenza badly chipped and a walnut dresser scratched. That customer said a damage claim with photos had gotten no reply. A recent customer said they showed up late with a U-Haul and forgot the TV boxes, that one of the technicians did not reassemble a bed correctly, and that a dresser was damaged, which the company adjusted the bill for. A recent customer gave 3 stars, saying they arrived an hour and a half late on day one, did not wrap a mattress and ran out of truck space, leaving a wait of 1 hour 40 minutes; that customer said nothing was broken. A 2026 customer said they helped with a last-minute office move and gave a reasonable quote. A 2025 customer said they moved seven heavy cast iron radiators from the second story to a garage and palletized them to ship to a powder coater. A 2025 customer who used them for unloading said the movers finished sooner than estimated, and added that on a later local move they finished early and cut the price accordingly. In a 2023 review, a customer said James the owner, Christian and Dan packed and loaded a 3,500 sq ft house over two days and drove the trucks three states over. A 2025 customer said they lost bolts and screws for furniture, damaged bed frames and broke a leg on a dresser. In a 2022 review, a customer who had booked 2 movers for 8am said James was more than 30 minutes away at 8:10 and coming alone.
BMC was available last minute for a local move. They were efficient and great to work with. Overall, made moving day much more pleasant. Thank you!
Disappointed with this company on several levels. They were more expensive than other companies but I went with them because they emphasized their white glove service. That’s far from what I got. I told Hailey that I absolutely needed the guys to show up by 9am because my closing was scheduled for 1pm. The team was an 1 1/2 hours late to arrive which made the entire move out stressful for me. I ended up having to delay the closing twice due to the slow progress on the move. I also expressed to Hailey at BTV Moving multiple times that having all of my furniture blanket wrapped was critically important since I had some expensive items and we were doing a long distance move. I noticed several times that the guys would throw a blanket over a piece of furniture when bringing it out to the truck to appease me but they would not wrap and tape my furniture as required in a standard move. I had to reprimand them a few times. But since I couldn’t be everywhere at all times I wasn’t sure what was getting wrapped and what wasn’t. Sure enough, when I finally had a chance to inspect my furniture when the move was complete, I noticed that my beautiful dining room table was gouged and scratched, my oak credenza was badly chipped, and my walnut dresser was scratched. It’s difficult to inspect all of these items closely when you first arrive at your destination. So I would urge everyone to NOT release your final payment to this company until you unpack everything and inspect everything with a fine toothed comb. I contacted the company after I discovered the damage and, in accordance with their damage policy, I have submitted a claim and submitted photos. To date, they have never gotten back to me. My advice: exercise caution!!

Horrible experience all around. They showed up late with a u-haul, (which surprised me as most moving companies I have dealt with in the past have used a semi or an owned truck). They forgot the TV boxes, which delayed the loading and the day went downhill from there. One of the technicians did not know how to disassemble one of our beds and did not reassemble it correctly in the new home. They seemed a bit careless with some of our furniture and damaged a dresser which thankfully they adjusted our bill for, but still leaves us without a functioning dresser. Overall it was just a very underwhelming and poor experience. I would not recommend this company at all.
