C.B. Haskell Fuel Company describes itself on its website as a local oil and propane dealer as well as a plumbing and heating service, a family-run business it says is over 25 years old, and it names Windsor as its service area. A recent customer said they came in for 20 gallons of K2 when their water heater's supply ran out, avoiding an emergency delivery fee from their oil supplier. A 2022 customer thanked Justin and the company for staying late to make sure a new furnace and hot water were up and running. A 2022 reviewer said that after an old gas valve stopped working once a delivery was done, the delivery man put a new valve on the tank while it was spewing gas. A 2021 customer said a technician came out the same day for a problem getting gas to the ignitor. A 2023 customer said that when propane was in short supply, the company brought a 5 gallon tank to keep their mother's studio heated until it could be filled. Its BBB grade is A+. A 2026 customer said the installer refused to put a new regulator on two new 120-gallon propane tanks bought in 2019, and that propane odors later came from the used regulator until it was replaced. A 2025 customer said the owner installed the B vent for a backup propane heater horizontally with no vertical rise, then wanted to back out of the install, and they closed their account. A 2024 customer said they found 20 gallons of frozen water in their tank after a fill and were told they must have a leak. A 2023 customer said the company never showed up when it said it would and under-refunded them after they asked it to take back its tanks.
Saved my ass when my k2 ran out for my water heater. Would have cost me a huge emergency fee for delivery from my oil supplier but I was able to come get 20 gallons without issue and forgo the cold showers for a week.
I purchased 2- 120 gallon propane tanks for my brand new home in 2019. Upon completion and filling the tanks with fuel, I looked at the installation job that was done. I noticed that the regulator valve which allows the gas to flow from the tanks into my home looked very old and I mentioned my concern to the installer, of which I believe may be part owner, or the owner. His answer was to the affirmative that it was used and "refurbished". I wanted a "brand new" regulator on my brand new tanks and I felt it made sense to do so. He basically refused to put a brand new one on the tank and I just had to accept that. Well, it does make sense to use a "brand new" one. In fact so much sense, that I was mowing my lawn one afternoon and noticed propane smell which I had to call them about. It was coming from the old regulator. Alledgedly the leak was from a fitting on it. Then just recently I had another odor of propane coming from the same exact regulator on the tank. Again they came and this time it was determined that the regulator was no good. I have no idea how much fuel I lost due to the old regulator they installed. Maybe I should get a few refills for free? So, why did CB Haskell use a "refurbished" gas regulator on my brand new tanks to being with. Charge me for all new equippment but use an OLD part? Good question, and I am very fortunate no sparks or flames which could have caused a serious explosion, and maybe have killed myself and my dog as well, or if anyone else was at my residence, did not occur! They had to install a new one this time as should have been done with BRAND NEW TANKS. They insisted they were right and I am wrong. Well, CB Haskell, I am no longer doing business with you. Cudos! Any customers of CB Haskell, if you run your home on Propane as I do, do yourselves a big favor and check ALL your propane tanks, lines, fittings and regulators for leaking gas. It is no joking matter. It is extraordinary dangerous to have any gas leaks and irresponsible of any fuel company to install used equippment on new tanks. Unhappy and no longer a CB Haskell customer now. ๐๐บ๐ธ
Tech.was great,,he taught me a lot and explained everything,,and at my age,I don't learn easy,,, Thanks B.P
Time and time again, they donโt disappoint. From emergency service, to new installs, to maintenance and fuel fills, I havenโt had anything Iโd complain issues with offerings. Theyโve done a lot of work for me and they are great people to work with.
We have been customers of CB Haskell for over 20 years and have found their office staff and technicians top notch. Last fall my wife and I decided to have a back up propane heater installed in the first floor of our home. One of the owners came out in September and gave us an estimate. Three months later our heater was not operating. The owner failed to properly install the B vent as it was only installed horizontally with no vertical rise. No drip leg for the gas line and no emergency vent shutoff switch. After reading the installation manual, I told the owner that I would be having a state inspector from the Fuel Board inspect his work. The tone of the owner changed immediately and he wanted to back out completely of the install. I said no, finish the B vent properly and I will install the heater of my choice. After much thought and great deal of regret, I closed my account and went to another fuel supplier.
