In August 2023 someone needed blood stains out of a carpet, called Chem-Dry of Four Seasons, and had it handled the same day. That is the kind of work this Amherst, New Hampshire outfit gets called for — carpets and upholstery their owners had half given up on. HomeAdvisor's listing says it has been in business since 1997. Five reviewers between 2017 and 2024 name Larry. A September 2022 customer with kids and dogs said he came on very short notice and the carpets came back like new, with minimal moisture and no chemical smells. In January 2022, a customer clearing out a late mother's house after cat damage said they went in wanting nothing more than a best effort, and that he responded promptly and professionally. The written history is long and most of it is old. Angi's 51 ratings average 4.6, with the written accounts there running from 2012 to 2020; Google's 25 ratings average 5★, and those written accounts run from 2022 to July 2024. The jobs described are much the same across both stretches: several rooms plus an RV's carpeting in November 2023, where the customer had feared the RV carpet was permanently stained; carpets ten years old coming clean in an August 2017 review; a badly stained carpet in a Nashua home in April 2014. Where people pushed back, it was about method and about furniture. A June 2014 customer with many pet stains said steam cleaning is the way to go and that Chem-Dry could not compare, and a renter writing in 2012 with cheap carpet said steaming seems to work a little better; a November 2013 customer rated the visit a fair experience. Separately, a September 2019 reviewer who was happy with the carpets said he did not move all the furniture — beds, a sofa and loveseat, large chairs. For pet stains, tired upholstery, or a carpet you were ready to replace, this is a straightforward call around Amherst, and a July 2024 customer said the same: efficient work, and they would have him back. Settle before booking who moves the heavy furniture, ask what the package covers — a June 2019 customer worried about the cost of the stairs and said the company worked those into the package — and if the pet damage is heavy, ask how the process handles it.
