“The Chimney Sweep in Shelburne has always done right by me.”
“is the most Vermont sentence ever.”
“Especially the owners of the chimney sweep, brickliners, stove depot, shearer chevrolet, and dock doctors. All scumbags who hang with each other and laugh at the ways they exploit our labor.”
“Not a jingle, but the chimney sweep fireplace shop had ads with that guy with the super woodsy VT accident. "chimnee sweep fireplaice shoup on tha baarey montpilliah roawd"”
“Just don't buy it from 'Chimney Sweep Shop'. Trust me on that one.”
“according to Roy L’Esperance, owner of the Chimney Sweep Fireplace Shop , a retailer in Shelburne and Berlin.”
“As my salesman at the Chimney Sweep Fireplace Shop in Shelburne reminded me, that’s a surefire way to choke my neighbors in an acrid cloud, set off my smoke detectors and eventually accumulate enough creosote in the chimney to burn my house to the ground.”
“Best chimney sweep company The Chimney Sweep Fireplace Shop”
Over priced, rude, arrogant, once the check is cashed they don't know you, A very unhappy crew indeed, operating like it's 1980 and they are the only game in town. Given VT has no real money 63% tax based economy, local, state, Federal employees and the supplemented paying for their food with other peoples paid tax dollars and less than 1% new affluence moving in we can only hope this place disappears.....
I bought an encore wood stove from the chimney sweep fireplace shop in Shelburne Vermont. Horrible experience. They do not honor their warrantied items when they break. I have had this wood stove for 14 months they said they would not honor my broken parts because I don't have a hearth underneath my stove I have slate. Quick to take my money though!
They don’t even deserve 1 star! Horrible customer service. Last year 2024-2025 my Hearthstone gas stove was down for 2 winter months waiting for a service call after the tech left a test port open during the annual safety inspection and causing a gas leak. This year when I turned the stove on in early December it would not fire up. When I called for service, the service manager lectured me that I should have checked to see if the stove was operating earlier in the year. He talked down to me and it was INSULTING! Again I had to wait 2 months for an appointment. Since the stove is the sole source of heat in that part of the house we ran portable electric heaters in our attempt to keep pipes from freezing. The annoyance of checking the water pipes on cold nights was only exceeded by the cost of the increase of my electric bill. To date the the past 2 winters have cost me an additional $209 in portable heaters, and at least $350 in electric bills.
This company will put your home, and your family's life at risk, if you don't know how to check their work. If you buy a stove from here, don't have them install it. I bought a Hearthstone from them. At installation they brought an increaser that didn't fit, so they just stuck the stove pipe into a flue 2 inches larger and called it great. If you understand chimneys, you know how unsafe that is. Carbon Monoxide poisoning, chimney fires, among other issues. If you rely on Chimney Sweep to do work as professionals, they will be negligent and dangerous. When I called them to discuss the issue, the gentleman on the phone told me to "under no circumstances start a fire in the home". When the installers left they said it was good to go. That tells you everything you need to know. I feel bad for folks who don't know anything about chimneys, older folks, people who trust this company to install stoves safely. Thankfully, I know enough about them to know it wasn't right. If you've had your woodstove installed by Chimney Sweep, I'd recommend you call professionals like Brickliners to come ensure your woodstove wont burn your house down.
They are good at selling stoves but they don't have the staff to service them. After being told there was a 3 month lead time for service, I found Fireside Gas & Chimney Service, who are fabulous! When I called to cancel my appointment with Chimney Sweep, and mentioned they might want to prioritize the stoves that they sell, I was berated for not calling during the summer. I was left feeling that I would never patronize them ever again.
