Chimneys Express is a New Haven, Connecticut chimney company that describes itself as handling inspections, cleaning, repairs and installations. The state registry shows its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration HIC.0701439 as inactive due to non-renewal. In a November 2025 review, a customer said the crew cleaned a pellet stove with a technician on the roof and another inside, catching the soot in a bag. A March 2025 customer said they came out the same day, cleaned the chimney and charged a fair price. An August 2025 reviewer said the price kept changing as the job progressed and called the work subpar. On Angi and HomeAdvisor it holds 4.6 stars from 10 ratings.
It went great. I have a pellet stove, it has never been cleaned like this. They put a bag over the bottom of the stove liner, 1 tec on the roof, 1 tec inside. When finished I saw all the soot in the bag, WOW. They put the stove back together, cleaned up and explained everything they did. They were very friendly and pleasant to talk with. Today I started my stove and stared right up. I highly recommend them and would hire them again.
Great job!
He did an excellent job.
Do not use this company. They give you one price quote, then keep changing the price as the job progresses. Their work is subpar. It seems like the business is not financially sound and is running out of money. Stay away from these people they are scam artists.
Professionally and courteous service.
