Closets by Design West Connecticut designs and installs closets, and on Google it holds 4.9 stars from 349 ratings. Its website names a service area that includes Danbury, Norwalk, Stamford, Westport and New Haven, and describes an Everyday Collection built with 3/4-inch straight-edge panels, adjustable shelves and half-overlay flat face doors. The jobs go past bedroom closets. One recent customer had a pantry redone, swapping builder-grade wire shelves for drawers, floating shelves and an appliance cabinet; that installation stretched over a couple of visits because parts came at different times. A recent customer said custom-built kitchen cabinets were installed by two young professionals. A recent customer described a whole wall closet with drawers that replaced a bulky dresser in a very small bedroom, at a final price a lot less than a quote from another company. A recent customer said the company completed a walk-in closet with accessibility for a person with some physical challenges. When a design misses, the company has reworked it. A recent customer noticed mid-installation that 12-inch-deep shelves were wasting half of two 24-inch-deep closets; the company redesigned the shelves, with an increase in cost for the added materials. A recent customer said designer Lara spent a few hours designing a master-bedroom closet, and that after a slight mismeasurement the installers came back a few days later to finish the last closet doors. That same customer objected to the sales approach: a "list price," then 40% off right away, then an extra discount for signing that day. A recent customer found the shelf peg holes inconsistent, which made the shelving harder to move. A 2026 customer said the installers cut wood in the garage rather than the driveway and left sawdust they had to clear with a blower. In 2024, a customer said they confirmed a free consultation, no one showed up, and no one called back. In 2025, a customer said the company called back the same day and had Paulette Marino at the door within a few hours to take measurements.
What an amazing experience from beginning to end! It all started with an in-home consultation with Lara - what an incredible designer! She truly listened to our needs, respected our budget, and transformed empty closets into beautiful, functional spaces that exceeded our expectations. Installation day went exactly as scheduled, and Luiz and Brandon were absolutely fantastic! Their skill, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident throughout the entire process. They did an extraordinary job! A heartfelt thank you to Lara, Luiz, and Brandon for making the entire experience so seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend their work!
They did a very good job and completed the job quickly and cleaned up well.
From the initial estimate to the final installation, this company delivered an outstanding experience. The entire process was smooth, professional, and well managed from start to finish. The custom-built kitchen cabinets were beautifully and expertly installed by two young professionals who clearly knew their craft. Their attention to detail, precision, and professionalism were impressive, and the result exceeded my expectations. The team worked closely with me to produce exactly what I envisioned. Pricing was reasonable, and there was an excellent range of designs and options to choose from. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and the service. I would confidently recommend this company to others and would gladly work with them again. Thank you Closets by Design West Connecticut for helping beautifying our Kitchen. Grace and Peter
The initial design work was well thought-out for the space versus my storage needs. Designer follow-up visit to finalize his measurements, and to make minor improvements to the design. Installation was very efficient, with a skilled team. Minimal disruption in my home, and spotless clean-up when finished. Honestly, from design concept to installation, the process was great. The completed work was better than what I expected … all finished on-time and at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend Closets by Design.
My new closet looks amazing! Everyone involved in the process, from the design to installation, was so nice, attentive and caring. Truly am in love with it and highly recommend Closets by Design. Special thank you to Jim, Dianny, Luiz, and Donnell for all the work!
