"We have had NOT ONE DROP of water in 20 years," a Reddit commenter wrote in March 2024 about Connecticut Basement Systems, the waterproofing, crawl space and basement finishing company that holds 4.8 stars from 1926 Google ratings and 4.7 from 473 on Angi. The company says it has been in business 39 years. The recent work spans repair and finishing. In a March 2026 Google review, Mario H performed a poly pipe injection to stop a leak, and it worked as intended. A March 2026 customer first used the company after Hurricane Sandy and has had no water issue since, then had wall panels added to improve the basement. February 2026 reviewers praised finished basements managed by Dan Medina. In an October 2025 review, a first-time homeowner had a foundation crack repaired after another company quoted $20,000, and a June 2025 customer had a foundation built and the crawl space sealed after a groundhog damaged it. On Reddit, the talk is about price as much as results. A 2024 commenter called the company very expensive but said "they know their shit"; others in 2024 threads cited quotes of $16,000 and of 14k for French drains with a sump pump, and one said the company quoted an insane amount. A 2024 commenter said the inspection did not look outside the foundation or at the whole basement. Its Connecticut HIC license, HIC.0526823, is active on the state registry. The complaints are about scheduling and follow-through. A September 2026 Google reviewer said getting a maintenance visit had taken four months, with two cancellations and a no-call, no-show. A September 2025 reviewer said an agent kept asking for a review during an evaluation, before any work was done, until the customer gave in. In a 2024 review, scheduling was called atrocious, and a May 2024 reviewer said a crawl space job was not finished on the day promised and took another month to complete.
