Connecticut Kitchen & Bath Studio holds 4.8 stars from 50 Google ratings and 4.8 from 19 on Houzz, and its BBB page shows an A+ grade. The company describes itself as a full service design center that does everything from adding a kitchen island or bathroom vanity to large-scale remodeling projects, and says it has been in business 47 years. A recent Google customer described a bathroom remodel with floor and wall tile, heated floors, a Kohler smart toilet, a large double vanity, a quartz countertop and a new shower with quartz trim matching the counter. That customer said John partnered with Jason at Central Connecticut Building & Remodeling to coordinate the subcontractors, and that waiting on the town inspector halted work twice, which they put down to local town bureaucracy. A recent Google customer said John Yates visited their home to take preliminary measurements for a kitchen and bathroom renovation that included new countertops, sinks, faucets and medicine cabinets. A 2026 customer said a kitchen job was completed within the timeline provided. A 2025 customer said they did the demo themselves on a small bathroom that ended up with a glass shower enclosure and a Kohler tank-in-wall toilet. A 2023 customer said John came to their house to do measurements, presented a detailed plan, returned to check the cabinets coming off the truck and spoke to their carpenter during the install, all within their budget. A 2023 customer said John Yates convinced them to go with a wall-hung toilet with an in-wall carrier, which gave them an additional 10 inches between the toilet and the vanity. A 2024 customer said certain materials were not immediately available when needed because of a COVID supply chain interruption. A 2017 Houzz customer said a remodel of two bathrooms took a little longer than expected, more the contractor's responsibility than John's. A 2017 Houzz customer said the cabinets had a few dings on arrival from the manufacturer, and that John quickly contacted a restoration company to touch them up. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0639711, as expired, held by CONNECTICUT KITCHEN & BATH STUDIO LLC.
We and completely thrilled with our bathroom remodel and highly recommend Connecticut Kitchen & Bath Studio! While we had a general idea of what we wanted, we lacked the creative skill to bring it to life. John and Linda from Connecticut Kitchen & Bath Studio listened closely to our thoughts and made meaningful suggestions and then pulled everything together beautifully. From there, John partnered with Jason at Central Connecticut Building & Remodeling, to seamlessly coordinate all the subcontractors so we could just sit back and watch. The communication was excellent; John, Jason, and the crew kept us consistently informed about which tradespeople would be on-site each day. A special shoutout to Angelo, the tile guy, whose meticulous work is absolutely perfect. The finished space—including the floor and wall tile, heated floors, Kohler smart toilet, large double vanity, quartz countertop, and new shower with quartz trim matching the counter—turned out even better than we hoped. Our only minor annoyance was waiting on the town inspector, which halted work twice for a week and a half after the rough-in and again after the waterproofing. However, this was due to local town bureaucracy and out of the contractor's control. The photos truly don't do justice to how amazing it looks in person!
John helped us design/remodel our kitchen and a few years later our bathroom. Highly recommend! He and everyone he works with is professional, communicate well, and the results exceed expectations!
John was great! The bathroom turned out better than expected. We absolutely love it!
What a wonderful experience I had with John Yates and his team with the task of renovating my kitchen and bathroom , including replacing my countertops, as well the I nstallation of new sinks, faucets and medicine cabinets. Starting with a visit from John to my home to take preliminary measurements, followed by a delightful visit to his Avon office where I was aided professionally by him and his company members, Linda Brady and Carol Capirchio, in choosing the items for the renovation, communication was excellent from start to finish. In addition, the installation crew, supervised by Khamp Phimvongsa, was friendly, professional, respectful of my home as well as knowledgeable in their field of expertise. During the project John made a visit to ensure everything was running well according to our plan. In summary, the attention to detail was exemplary, the quality of work was top-notch and the job was done on schedule and according to the original estimate. I would definitely use them again for future projects.
I am really loving my completely resigned kitchen and bathroom. John was great to work with, and all the workers that came here were courteous and very nice. Came with a smile every morning. They did a great job making sure everything was built and finished to my satisfaction.
