D & G Contractors is a Plainville site-work outfit. The company says it has handled Connecticut site development and utility installation since 1987, when two brothers, Dave and Guy Plourde, started the business. In a May 2022 Google review, a homeowner described D&G opening up the road for the gas company to update gas lines, then repairing the road afterward; the crew came back to finish the work, and the reviewer thanked Tim for explaining the process. An October 2023 Google reviewer wrote that the company is "all about safety" and was working on a water main in North Cannan, CT. A December 2024 Google review is a one-star complaint: the customer, sent through American Home Shield, wrote that it took two months to attempt a basic attic fan motor install, the motor was never installed, and an office answering service apologized but no contractor called back. Two short 2025 Google reviews call it a great company. On Google it holds 4.3 stars from 12 ratings.
“Jean help manage the family business, D & G Contractors, and upon retiring, enjoyed travelling cross country with Guy in their R.V.”
Great company!!
Great company, the owner is a really cool guy.
I would give them a -100 if I could. They have poorly skilled workers and service. It took them two months to try to attempt to install a basic attic fan motor. The motor was not installed. You have to deal with an office answering service who just apologizes but doesn’t fix the situation at all. No one calls you back that actually is a contractor. The only reason I went with them is because I had American Home Shield which is also awful and I’m cancelling them too because they only send you the worst contractors possible.
They do a great job, and they are all about safety. They are doing a fantastic job up in North Cannan, CT working on a water main.
D&G was hired by the Gas Company to open up the roads in order to update gas lines!! I just want to say how happy I was with the job they did!! After opening the road they took extra care to repair the road back to excellent standards!! The guys were very nice and friendly and so professional in there work!! Thanks guys for ensuring my property value was not diminished by this work!!! I think they were part of the Brian Jackson Group!!!! Thanks Again!!! The D&G Guys are back 05/13 to complete the work for the Gas Company. I just wanted to again complement these guys on the wonderful work!! The care they have for your property and the great customer service is so refreshing from guys in there line of work!! Tim is the best!! I want to thank him for explaining the process and calming my nerves on this whole gas renovation process!!!
