Progressive Development Corporation carries an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau and a 3.8-star Google rating from 4 ratings. A 2026 customer hired Rich for a septic tank crush and sewer line install and said the project dragged on for 4 weeks instead of the 1.5 they were told, mostly due to repeated absences and lack of communication. That 2026 customer said an oversized track hoe damaged the lawn and driveway and leaked oil on the driveway. The 2026 customer also said the new line was never inspected, and that while uncovering it after the town insisted, he hit it and had to replace the pipe. In the same 2026 account, pipes left on a neighbor's lawn killed the grass and he didn't follow through on promised topsoil, though the customer said the stump removal work itself was done well. In a 2022 review, a customer building a sunroom said their contractor hit a rock and stopped the work, and Rich gave a quotation instantly, came in within 4 days and finished the work in one day. That 2022 customer said he called the town and got the inspector to come in the same day, and also helped pull two large trees, put two boulders at the driveway entrance and install back water drainage.
I would not recommend working with Rich. What should have been a straightforward septic tank crush and sewer line install turned into a frustrating, drawn-out experience. He used an oversized track hoe that caused unnecessary damage to both our lawn and driveway. Even after bringing it up, he ended up leaking oil on the driveway anyway. The project dragged on for 4 weeks instead of the 1.5 we were initially told, mostly due to repeated absences and lack of communication. There were also some concerning oversights, he never got the new line inspected, so while uncovering it after the town insisted, he hit it and had to replace the pipe. On top of that, he left pipes sitting on our neighbor’s lawn long enough to kill the grass. Communication was poor throughout. He was difficult to reach, often ignored messages, and didn’t follow through on promised topsoil at the end of the job. To be fair, the stump removal work itself was done well. But overall, the lack of professionalism, reliability, and follow-through made this a negative experience. I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
Rich saved the day for us!! We are building a sunroom, our contractor hit a rock and stopped the work. Rich gave us a quotation instantly, which was very reasonable, came in within 4 days, and finished the work in one day. He called the town and pulled a favor for us with the inspector to come in the same day and with that saved us money on renting equipment for an extra day. He was very friendly and helpful with different side items e.g. helped us pull two large trees and move them aside. Helped us put two boulders at the entrance of our driveway. Helped with installing back water drainage... and I have to comment on how smoothly he handled his equipment and was very detailed with his work. We can't recommend him enough. Thanks Rich!
Rich crushed our septic tank and installed a sewer line. He used an oversized track ho, damaging our lawns, driveway, and leaked oil.
