Driveways are the job here. A recent customer said Dana's team replaced their driveway and changed the grading for the new one to avoid prior issues, and that Dana was easy to work with from the quote to the day of the job. A recent customer said Dana made the process easy from the estimate to completion and put down a thicker pavement than others they got quotes from. The company's website says it has been in business 25 years and specializes in asphalt paving and repairs for residential and commercial properties. A 2025 customer said Dana and the folks at D&R paving replaced a one-lane driveway with an oversized two-lane driveway and paved a walkway to the back door and deck. A 2025 customer who had a 6,000 sq. ft. driveway paved said Dana built an asphalt ramp to the door so the reviewer's girlfriend could use her walker and wheelchair, and included it in the original quote. That 2025 customer said an install date set a month in advance was canceled without notice, and the job was later moved up on short notice. A recent customer said the job was sloppy and quick, that the sealer came off with the snow the following spring, and that the owner never called back.
If I could give a minus number of stars I would! The worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. The job was sloppy and quick. And unknown to us until the following spring, the product they sealed our driveway with came off with the snow. When I called them to talk about what had happened to our driveway, they ghosted us. I continued to try and talk to the owner but he never would call me back. BUYER BE WARE! This company are scoundrels.
Dana's team did a very high quality job replacing our driveway. We really appreciate how easy he was to work with - from providing a quote to scheduling to the day of the job. The team worked well together & were very detail oriented and thorough. They analyzed troublepoints & changed grading for the new driveway to avoid prior issues. It was really fascinating watching the crew - I learned so much about paving - it's really fascinating (& dangerous...)! The driveway came out great & should last a good long time. Thanks Dana & team for your reliable & high quality work!
Dana was extremely communicative and made the process so easy from the estimate to the completion of the project. The work was incredible and compared to others I got quotes from he puts down a thicker pavement.
Dana and the folks at D&R paving, rebuilt our driveway on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving last year. They replaced the existing one lane driveway, which was in a state of disrepair, with an oversized 2 lane driveway and also paved a walkway from the driveway to our back door and deck. The new driveway looks great, has been the source of many compliments, and greatly enhanced the appearance of the front of our house. I highly recommend the folks at D&R for any paving or related work you may need.
D&R Paving is a story of two companies. The first is an awesome, very professional - second to none paving firm. I contracted D&R Paving to pave my 6000 sq. ft. driveway and area in front of my home as well as a walkway along my garage. The firm used three full truck loads of asphalt and did an a spectacular job. I informed the owner Dana, the day of the paving, my girlfriend is disabled. Dana removed the single wooden step from my home and crated a ramp from asphalt to the door of my home so my girlfriend could use her walker and wheelchair to enter directly into my home. I knew Dana was going to replace the step with asphalt but I had no idea he was going to create a ramp. That was a very pleasant surprise for me and my girlfriend. Dana included the ramp in the original cost quote of the project even though the ramp project required more asphalt and time to install. Dana and his team's thoughtfulness and extra work is greatly appreciated. The firm's project scheduling and customer service skills need improvement. Dana prefers not to schedule a definite install date but would rather provide his customers with a date range and then “possibly” provide his client with a day or few days notice before beginning a major paving project. The reason for the firm's scheduling practices are somewhat a factor of the nature of the the paving business where paving projects are very weather dependent. The firm prefers to execute multiple jobs in the same area during a week as it is more cost efficient for the firm. Great for the firm, not so great for the client. I scheduled an install date with Dana an month in advance and the date was canceled and I was not notified. I learned of the cancellation when I called Dana four days before the paving install date. Dana did not provide a reason for the cancellation except for the weather. The job was scheduled for a Monday, which was expected to be rainy but the Tuesday and Wednesday of that week as well the Friday of that were all fine sun filled days. Dana then provided me with install date range of “within the next two weeks”. The following week I called Dana and to check to see if my paving project was still scheduled for the week of Halloween and he stated, “Yes, but possibly the beginning of the following week”. Five minutes after the phone call ended, Dana called me and informed he had canceled a paving job scheduled in two days, due to logistics, and rescheduled my paving job for that time slot. Although I appreciated the much earlier paving date, the short notice was not appreciated, as I had to make last minute arrangements to travel from another state to be at my Maine home by Friday morning. Scheduling and customer service is not the firm's strong points. One final important comment: If you choose to contract with D&R Paving for your paving project, you will receive a second to none high quality paving job for a reasonable price. The onsite crew managed by Dana's son Bob, Dana's brother Sean, and Project Manager, Patrick, have stellar customer service skills and are a pleasure which to work, as a major paving installation can be stressful. I highly recommend you hire D&R Paving to for your paving project; just know you will have to frequently manage your loosely scheduled paving install date and your date may be unexpectedly moved either sooner or later than the scheduled date. I recommend working with Patrick on scheduling and customer service related issues. Sean is best for sales related inquires and he will work with Dana to finalize the details of the paving project. Good luck with your paving project and be well. Rob.
