The craftsmanship draws consistent, specific praise across years: a 550-square-foot paver patio with a grill station and granite steps, a retaining wall restored with added drainage after it started failing, a masonry walkway that replaced a yard full of stones and weeds, a fireplace rebuild, and front steps repaired stone by stone. Several reviewers mention Danny walking them through computer renderings before work started, or giving a detailed, transparent estimate — the kind of specifics that come up again and again from 2021 through the summer of 2026. Set against that is a recurring complaint that shows up in nearly every year of reviews: getting Danny to actually show up. A 2022 review described a two-week wait for promised follow-up information. A late-2024 review said an appointment for a foundation repair was cancelled the day-of and never rescheduled. Another from the same period described it as impossible to get him to follow through on providing even an estimate. Two reviews from June 2026 — the most recent on file — describe four missed appointments in a row despite confirmed times. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, verified against the state registry, is also currently expired. For a hardscaping or stonework project once the work actually starts, the finished results here are consistently well-reviewed. The real risk is earlier in the process — getting a call back, a scheduled visit kept, or an estimate delivered — so it's worth building in extra lead time and confirming appointments directly before counting on a start date.
D.R. Stonework replaced two bricks on my front steps. During their busy season, D.R. was willing to take on my very small job. Steps are repaired and look great.
After calling multiple businesses to fix pavers on my patio D.R stonework was the only business that helped solve my problem. We had a deck built and some pavers were damaged in the process. I looked in so many stores and called all around to find matching pavers and had no luck. Other businesses were also of no help. After weeks of struggling I called D.R stonework and was told exactly where I could get new matching pavers and they did a fantastic job installing them. I highly recommend using them if you want professional work done and to be well taken care of.

I would confidently recommend D.R. Stonework for any stonework project. D.R Stonework assessed the issues with our small stone wall, explained the design problems with it and crafted a solution that fit within our budget. They were very responsive when we called and fit us into their schedule at a time that was convenient for us. They were very conscientious about cleaning the work area and keeping us apprised of what they were doing.
We had the pleasure of working with Dan and his crew. They performed a full walkway and entrance replacement which including lighting installation and landscaping. The work took about a week to complete (from demo to final landscaping). Every day they cleaned up and made sure their equipment was put away. I also received a daily schedule update that told me their arrival times and what work was going to happen that day. The end result far exceeded our expectations. The pictures speak for themselves (before and after provided). I cannot recommend Dan and his team enough. Absolute top notch guy and company that perform high end stonework.
