Deck construction is Da Deck Boss’s focus, from wood decks to composite, PVC and IPE designs advertised on its website. The Windsor company says it serves nearby towns including Bloomfield, East and South Windsor, Windsor Locks, Hartford and Glastonbury. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration is active. Google lists a 4.6-star average from seven ratings, with written accounts spanning 2024–2026. In June 2026, one couple praised Ruben and Mitch for their work through markedly changing temperatures and said they were pleased with the finished deck. An April 2026 customer described Ruben handling town permits and coordinating inspections, returning calls and answering concerns promptly. Other customers writing in 2024 and 2025 praised deck workmanship, punctuality and quick progress. A June 2026 customer had a different experience with a 25-by-16-foot pressure-treated deck. They reported board gaps ranging from three-eighths to more than nine-sixteenths of an inch after roughly two weeks, said two full boards had been left unused, and considered the $3,000 labor charge excessive. The reviewer said one carpenter completed the work in less than 24 hours and regretted agreeing to a square-foot price. These are the customer’s complaints about the finished deck and pricing.
I had a deck done by Da Deck Boss LLC It was a pressure treated deck , no hand rails , just a flat deck . One foot off the ground , basically just a flat surface 25 x16 . The deck has been down 2 wks. or so . The spacing between the 1 x 6 boards are anywhere’s from 3/8s of an inch to more than 9/16s of an inch . This is not the way decking should be put down , it is recommended that a 16d penney nail should be used as a spacer , anotherwards a space no wider than 1/4 of an inch . I have twice that now , and in time it will worsen . In addition , 2 full decking boards were left on the ground , never used . If they had been , there likely would not be the excessive spacing that there is . The cost of the labor alone , which was less than 24 hrs. was $3000.00 , a hourly rate of $ 125.00 an hr. for a job that was done completely wrong . My responsibility in this , I should never have agreed to a square footage price , I should have asked how many carpenters were going to be working on it , what was an estimate of the labor time . One carpenter put it down , in less than 24 hours , $3000.00
My wife and I were interested in putting a deck on the back of our house so we went to the home show last year to check out our options. We talked with several companies, when we met Ruben “Da Deck Boss” he was friendly, knowledgeable and professional, we knew immediately he would be our choice. Our deck was completed today and we couldn’t be happier! Ruben and Mitch worked tirelessly in both 95 degrees and 49 degrees, their work ethic was outstanding and the finished product is amazing! I highly recommend using Da Deck Boss!!
My wife and I give Da Dech Boss our highest recommendation. Ruben and his crew built us a good looking high quality deck. They were always on time and paid attention to detail. Ruben took care of acquiring town permits and coordinated all town inspections. He always returned phone calls and answered any concerns in a timely manner. He went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the project. We are very happy with our new deck and have received many compliments from our friends and neighbors.
Amazing deck! Very punctual and professional. Came out fast for estimate and work was done surprisingly quick but with exceptional quality. Great deck, better than expected truthfully. We love it. So glad we found them!
The owner is very experienced, professional, and aims to completely satisfy the customer. Built us a beautiful deck. I highly recommend his company!
