Dana Schock and Associates is a landscape architecture firm that Houzz lists as a Sudbury, Massachusetts landscape-design firm, and a 2018 Houzz customer said Dana worked with them on the design, bidding and job management of a project that rebuilt a massive retainer wall, made a new pool house and redid the property grounds on a steep hill. That 2018 customer said Dana would swing by the job almost daily to check it was on track, and that the project used as much reclaimed material as possible. A bostonmagazine.com article from 2022 said the nearly 36 acres of grounds at Lee Pond Estate were crafted at the hands of Dana Schock & Associates Landscape Architecture, with the landscaping inspired by the work of Frederick Law Olmsted. Dana Schock was brilliant from start to finish. Our project consisted of rebuilding a massive retainer wall, making a new pool house, building numerous small retainer walls, along with redoing every square inch of our property grounds. Being our first project of this magnitude, we certainly had jitters. Dana calmly walked us through with grace. He finds a great balance between what the client want and what he knows from experience. We worked with Dana on the design, bidding and job management. He excelled in all three areas. Dana always followed through on timelines and meetings. Face to face meetings were pleasant and productive. He would often swing by the job (almost daily) and check to make sure it was on track even for the smallest of details. We highly recommend Dana Schock for your landscape design. Some interesting notes on our project with Dana Schock. 1) We used as much reclaimed material as possible, which Dana was really into. 2) We live on a steep hill, which made the project more intense, but Dana helped us work around that and make the best with what we had. 3) Dana was very budget sensitive and would only recommend an upgrade if it was meaningful. 4) We live in a tight community and Dana (along with the builder) did everything he could to respect our neighbors during the work.
We have used Dana and his firm for two big projects, one in Wayland, MA and the other in Portsmouth, RI. Dana's design work is superlative, installing landscaping that fits into the surrounding area and that can withstand some tough weather conditions as exist in our house in Portsmouth, which sits on a hill overlooking Narragansett Bay. Each of his projects generates rave reviews from neighbors and visitors. He has been extremely easy to work with and meets deadlines and budgets. We need a few more stars to truly measure his performance.
Dana Schock and Company did the site development and landscaping plan for our new custom-built home. This was a big and fairly challenging assignment and the results were outstanding. It is three years since the initial work was completed and we are as delighted with the results now as we were the day the work was completed. We would use Dana again without hesitation.
We have worked with Dana Schock for 15 years and would never consider anyone else. Dana listens well, is extremely easy to work with, and blends simplicity and creativity to produce landscape designs that are beautiful and functional.
Dana Schock did an incredible job on our outdoor project from conceptual design, planting selection, detailed drawings, and project oversight. We loved his professionalism, his vision, and his unerring attention to detail. We also loved his outright enthusiasm for our project! Dana always made us feel like we were his top priority, even though I knew our project was on a smaller scale than many others. His transformation of our outdoor living space and landscape was truly nothing less than stunning, and I am so very proud of it. Dana is a talented, creative, and passionate landscape architect. My husband and I would recommend him to anyone without reservation and would have no doubt they would be contacting one of the best in the industry.
