A dripping spigot behind the house is the detail one October 2026 customer remembered. Paul, a technician at Dave's World Presque Isle, came back to repair a heat pump another company had installed, noticed the spigot leaking during a dry summer, tightened it and put on the protective cover. The company, based on Main Street in Presque Isle, Maine, says it has been in business 35 years and lists service areas from Augusta to Scarborough and Windham; it holds 4.8 stars from 208 Google ratings. In September 2026 a customer wrote that they thought their heat pump just needed cleaning, but Paul found a coolant leak, quoted a repair on the older unit and set up an estimate for a full replacement. In July 2026 a reviewer wrote that they installed three units in one day, were polite and respectful, and cleaned their mess. A June 2026 customer wrote that Dave removed the old unit inside and out before Kyle installed the new one. In October 2025 a customer described Paul cleaning mold and gunk out of their heat pumps, and in a March 2025 review Nick cleaned three older indoor units and explained why the day was too cold to clean the outdoor ones. In February 2026 a customer wrote that Andy, Adam and Joe installed a Generac, with Andy walking them through the app. In April 2026 a customer praised Sam, a plumber, who fixed the problem and answered questions, and a September 2026 reviewer had electric added to install a dishwasher and garbage disposal. In July 2026 a customer rated the installers, Ricky and Randy, highly but wrote that they were called off mid-job to two other jobs, so work that started at 8:30 am did not finish until 8 pm. In August 2026 a one-star reviewer wrote that the technician's assessment of connecting a pump to a pond showed a lack of knowledge, and that after declining a quote of over $1,000 for a two-hour job they were told to pay a $175 service fee. Also in August 2026, a customer wrote that Paul could not finish an AC heat pump repair without a second person and that no one called to set up the follow-up visit. In July 2026 a reviewer wrote that they waited four hours past the appointment time before learning it had been cancelled without notice, and in August 2026 another customer's estimate appointment for moving two heat pumps was cancelled by an automated message. In November 2025 a one-star reviewer wrote that a technician never showed up and that nobody had reached out to investigate the installation.

***UPDATE***: Paul, the outstanding technician at Dave's World, came back to my house to repair an issue with a heat pump installed by another company. Let me just say, Dave's World is so darn lucky to have someone like Paul on their staff. This man is the epitome of professnalism and competence. Even though I've only had Paul at the house three or four times, when he arrives it's like I've known him for 20 years -- he's that personable. Simply put, Paul is an impressive person. Let me give you one example: when Paul was behind my house repairing our heat pump, he noticed that water was leaking steadily from a nearby spigot -- our well is already running dangerously low because of a very dry summer, and every drop of water matters. Most repairmen pay little to no attention to things that don't concern their scheduled visit -- nine out of ten repairmen would not have even mentioned my leaking spigot. Paul not only brought it to my attention, but he tightened it (and put on the protective cover) so that I don't lose any more water. That's the type of person Paul is: extremely conscientious and committed to his craft. And I'm so thankful to have someone like Paul to rely on for all of my heat pump needs. The man is one in 10 million! He's just that good! Thank you so much, Paul! **PREVIOUS REVIEW: I made a service appointment with Dave's World to repair a heat pump that was not turning on properly. This was a unit that was installed by another company. Dave's World sent Paul Berube. He called me beforehand and let me know that he was on his way. Thay was a very nice touch. Let me just say, I've dealt with a million service technicians over a span of 50 plus years, and Paul is an absolute gem! A tremendous guy -- very professional, earnestly polite, and extremely knowledgeable. He even took his shoes off upon entering -- another nice touch! Heat pumps are Paul's thing, and his confidence shows -- in fact, it's downright reassuring, in every aspect of his approach. This was a tremendous experience, one that solidified my inclination to add two more heat pumps to my house -- all because of Paul's professionalism and expertise, to be sure. The only minor complaint that could have potentially derailed my plans to add more heat pumps (by Dave's World) is the fact that I found it somewhat difficult to reach a live person at the Presque Isle office. In fact, right up until I received a call from Paul, saying that he was on his way, I was in a bit of a limbo situation, and was even considering the possibility of going with a different company for the new installs. However, upon meeting Paul, I change my mind entirely and decided to stay with Dave's World. That's the power of a gifted and conscientious technician! Well done, Paul, on several levels -- thank you!
Meeting with Dave was a pleasure and the installers were great!! Every aspect from beginning to end was top notch!!
The whole process from my original call to service completion was truly AWESOME!
The electrician was on time, explained what was going to be done and cleaned up after the job. Top notch service
