A 2025 customer posted a one-star update saying they did not see how badly the work was done until after the inspection.
Danny and Darion repaired our ceilings damaged by water stains and they look terrific - pleasure to work with and highly recommend them. Additionally, the team helped us install framing around a skylight. Thank you!!
Danny and his team at DC Painting were great to work with. They were incredibly responsive, met my tight timeline, and delivered fantastic quality on both our interior and exterior painting. Highly recommend!
Very pleasant family to work with, job well done in a timing fashion.
DC Painting did an excellent job painting my 2 story entry & hallway. They were super careful & meticulous in their work & left everything cleaner than when they started. I will definitely call them for my next painting job. Great guys!!
We hired DC Painting to re-stain three sides of our barn, an architectural structure and a window on the gable end of our antique federal house. We are disappointed in the result and believe that we were overcharged. We are still waiting for a refund for an overpayment error of the final check. We were told that the job would take 5 or 6 days. Based on a regular working day of 7 to 8 hours, the contracted price was high, but based on a recommendation, we hired DC Painting. Danny and his son were never here more than 5 hours/day. When we saw that two sides of the barn were “prepped and primed” in 5 hours, we asked how the price had been determined. Hourly? Square footage? No satisfactory answer was given. Instead, Danny said he tells anyone who asks his hourly rate to find another painter. We wish we had. We have nothing against a business making a profit, but for the 54 hours DC Painting was here, we were charged $111/ hour for each painter, more than a master painter is expected to make in the state of Connecticut. Prep work was minimal at best. Areas of the barn siding that should have been sanded weren’t. Areas of the barn siding are missing stain. The window was not glazed, and the paint was not removed from the panes of glass after the paint dried. We were charged an additional $200 for the window. (See photos.) Perhaps if Danny didn’t “paint three to four times faster than other painters,” as he told us, we would have been more satisfied with the result. The one star is for the fact that they are polite and neat. In reply to DC Painting's answer below: DC Painting does not know the number of quotes we received. Our barn has not been "neglected for years." If so, why is it one of the most photographed barns in Litchfield County? The stain began peeling about two years ago due to weather conditions and the removal of VOCs from paint and stain. DC Painting completed the scraping and priming of two sides of the barn in less than 5 hours - a very short time if the barn "needed a complete makeover." The frame and door of the barn are integral parts of the three sides of the barn, all of which I requested be stained red. For goodness sake, I supplied our own primer and paint for the window and part of the architectural structure so DC Painting did not have to purchase additional paint. I never mentioned "not wanting to spend extra money" (for glazing) nor replacing the window on our house within a year. That comment was in reference to the four old barn windows, which are currently on order. Prepping an old window requires glazing. And "if" the paint was already on the panes, it should have been scraped. We never told DC Painting how pleased we were; in fact, my husband had an "exit interview" with you to discuss the situation. He NEVER told you the extra $10 was a bonus for your son to treat himself to lunch. My husband did not know that I had given you more than half at the initial deposit, hence the overpayment, which I noted in my email to you requesting the refund. So how could he say the $10 was a bonus? Shortly after you left - not three hours - I emailed you to request the refund. The photos speak for themselves.
