Delair's Carpet & Flooring is an East Montpelier flooring business that says it has been in business for 34 years. A recent customer said Jason and his team have done a few things for them and their parents over the years, and that the price is as fair as anyone's. A 2025 customer said very old living-room carpet was removed and replaced with new carpet and pad in one day, and that stair runners and rugs for in front of the woodstove were made from the remnants. A 2025 reviewer said Jason got their new carpet in quicker than expected. A 2023 customer said 14-year-old carpeting was removed and vinyl plank flooring installed, and named Rick as the installer. A 2022 customer said the shop unearthed discontinued flooring they had bought on clearance two and a half years earlier, in its warehouse, over the course of two days. A 2025 customer who hired the company for quartz countertops and a matching backsplash in Waitsfield said the countertops were installed but the backsplash was forgotten, and was completed only after significant delay. That 2025 customer also said the countertops were never sealed and that Jason hung up on them during one phone call. A 2024 reviewer said some of the flooring their mother-in-law bought was damaged and was not replaced, and that the shop wanted a 35% restocking fee when she cancelled an order for in-stock material. A January 2026 commenter on r/burlington wrote that they were doing an install themselves because they had bad luck last time with DeLairs. On Google it holds 4.3 stars from 38 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.
“I am doing the install myself as I had bad luck last time with DeLairs.”
“Delair's Carpet and Flooring!”
Jason and his team have done a few things for me over the years, as well as for my parents. Always happy with the work. Price is as fair as anyone. You won’t go wrong with delairs
I hired Delairs Carpet and Flooring for quartz countertops and a matching backsplash for a project in Waitsfield. The final product looks fine, but the experience getting there was chaotic and unprofessional. What went wrong: The templating appointment was scheduled for 11:00am, but the templater arrived around 8:00am with no notice and complained the site wasn’t ready—despite the agreed-upon time. The full install (counters + backsplash) was scheduled for 11/25. The countertops were installed, but the backsplash was completely forgotten, even though it was clearly included in the written estimate. Over the following weeks, I was given constantly changing explanations (fabrication not done, equipment failure, parts delays) with no reliable schedule. Delairs had subcontracted this out to another vendor. Communication deteriorated. Calls and follow-ups were met with defensiveness and dismissiveness rather than solutions. I was told to 'work with the subcontractor directly'. One phone call escalated to the point where Jason became confrontational, said he was “done,” and hung up on me, leaving the job unresolved. Eventually, the backsplash was completed, but only after significant delay, stress, and unnecessary involvement on our end. The counter tops were also never sealed. Bottom line: The workmanship is acceptable, but project management and communication are extremely poor. This job required far more oversight from my end than it should have, and timelines were not respected. If you choose this company, get everything in writing, expect delays, and be prepared to chase them to finish the work.
Great, friendly, courteous service, very helpful, quite knowledgeable, great prices, especially if you’re a contractor
Jason was great to work with, knowledgeable and efficient and got our new carpet in quicker than expected! Highly recommend 5 stars
We are very happy with the work that Delair's did for us. We had very old carpet in the living room and it was removed and replaced with new carpet and pad all in one day! Stair runners and extra rugs to put down in front of the woodstove were made from the remnants. Jason, Craig, Shawn and Shane were all amazing to work with! Professional, helpful, and very friendly. I can not say enough good things about the folks at Delair's and their quality of work. We will be returning customers!
