Lackey's Flooring LLC refinishes floors. Its most recent Google customer wrote that Jeff refinished both a 6-year-old and a 100+-year-old floor, with attention to the corners and even the toe kicks under the cabinets. A 2025 customer said Jeff was prompt, friendly, respectful and reasonably priced, and planned to have him back for more floor refinishing. A 2022 customer said they came the day promised, left the day promised, and the invoice came at the exact amount estimated. Its BBB grade is A+. A 2025 customer who paid $3,700 for a 640-square-foot refinishing project said the polyurethane went on over dust, hair and small particles, the edges were missed or poorly coated, the areas under the baseboard heaters were not sanded, and only about 1.75 of the promised three coats were applied. That 2025 customer also said several attempts to reach out to remedy it were ignored. Vermont lists its residential contractor registration, 174.0000663, as active, held by Lackey’s Flooring LLC.

Jeff did a great job refinishing both our 6 year old and 100+ year old floors. He gave great attention to all the corners and details and even the toe kicks under the cabinets. We could not be happier with the results. Before (ignore the cookie thief) and after photos on the heaviest traffic area attached. Thanks again Jeff!
Jeff did an amazing job on our floors. We are so thrilled with how they came out! Not only that, he was prompt, friendly, respectful, and reasonably priced! We will have him back when we are ready for more floor refinishing! Thank you Jeff. 1st photo is after, the last three from before.
I hired Lackey Flooring for a complete floor refinishing project, only 640 square ft, and 3700 dollars.and I am deeply disappointed with the outcome. The company promised a professional job with three coats of polyurethane for a smooth, durable finish, but the results are far from what was advertised. My floors look horrible, and the issues are glaring. First, the polyurethane was applied over visible debris—dust, hair, and small particles are trapped under the finish, creating a rough, unprofessional appearance across multiple rooms. It’s clear no proper cleaning was done before the application. Second, there are numerous unfinished areas, particularly along the edges of every room. These spots were either completely missed or poorly coated, leaving patchy, uneven surfaces that stand out. Under the baseboard heaters throughout we’re not sanded or touched at all. Worst of all, Lackey Flooring failed to deliver on their promise of three coats of polyurethane. After inspecting the floors, it’s evident they applied only one full coat and a partial second coat—barely reaching 1.75 coats. The thin finish lacks the durability and sheen I was promised, and it’s already showing signs of wear in high-traffic areas. The lack of attention to detail, failure to follow through on the agreed-upon service, and overall poor quality have left me with floors that are an eyesore. I would not recommend Lackey Flooring to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work. Save your money and go with a company that takes pride in their craft. I’ve also tried reaching out several times to try and remedy this situation only to be ignored. My home was built in 2006.See photos below
They did Wonderful Job
Came the day he said they’d come and left the day he said they’d be done. Reasonable price and invoice came at exact amount estimated! Quick responses from owner. And most importantly, along with the reasonable price and the on time work - they did a beautiful job!!!
