Dellbrook is a Quincy-based general contractor and construction manager that describes itself as ranked among the top general contractors in Massachusetts and in the national top 400, with a project list heavy on multifamily, mixed-use, and affordable-housing developments — 2Life Communities' Solimine House senior housing in Lynn, a Toll Brothers apartment project in Medway, and mixed-use work in Scituate and Somerville. It holds an A+ Better Business Bureau grade, though the BBB profile does not list it as an accredited business, and its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. The written record on smaller-scale conduct is mixed. The developer behind the SkySail project in Scituate said it "constructed this project with our contractor Dellbrook | JKS through the pandemic." But in a pair of 2023 reviews, someone near a Taunton jobsite described video evidence of repeated code and permit violations, plus chemical overspray from paint stripping that reportedly damaged parked cars and sent someone to the hospital; a 2026 review separately flagged trucks blocking a street as a safety issue. A 2025 news report also said Somerville advocates were pressing Dellbrook and its development partner to release code-compliance and inspection records for a project then under construction. Anyone hiring Dellbrook for a larger project should ask directly about jobsite safety practices and how the company handles neighbor and community concerns while work is underway, given the specifics above.
“The project team includes architects MASS Design Group, general contractor Dellbrook|JKS, landscape and civil engineer Stantec, owner’s construction manager Tierney Development Services LLC, and attorneys Klein Hornig LLP.”
“Monte French Studio is the architect for the project, and CEC is the civil engineer. Dellbrook JKS is the construction manager.”
“At an event scheduled for Wednesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. outside Somerville City Hall, local advocates will call on the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and Dellbrook Construction to publicly release documentation related to code compliance and inspection results for the project, which is currently under construction.”
“we constructed this project with our contractor Dellbrook | JKS through the pandemic”
“Medway, MA New England construction management firm Dellbrook|JKS has broken ground with Toll Brothers Apartment Living and the architects, Cube3 Studios, at 39 Main St.”
Get all the trucks off Hartwell. Major safety issue
A very awesome company
They were hired to do construction in downtown Taunton next door to me. I have video showing violations in just about every area there could be a violation. “Negligent” doesn’t even begin to describe this company. They often start hours before their permit (and law) allows. Being 7 am but I have video of them starting at 5 am. They sprayed harmful chemicals that by their own SDS sheets say fatal if inhaled all over residents vehicles and then gave us a hard time when confronted. Even after they admitted they did it. They said “so what? Get a car wash”. I was personally hospitalized for chemical exposure for burns and damage to my eye from them doing this. I asked them to put up a tarp to prevent cast-off onto our property I was told it’s impossible. Yet their safety data sheets demand it. Called today to warn of other unsafe activity and was told by their rep, once someone gets injured or killed then they can sue us and he laughed. Zero accountability or remorse in putting the public at risk. The DOL told me they’ve recently been nabbed for improper practices regarding lead and asbestos. I feel bad for their workers who likely don’t know any better. Their project manager Jason Cruetz of their Falmouth office told me what they were spraying was non-toxic and once I got sick I later found out that was a lie and it’s actually lethal. So I’m sure workers are being told the same lie.
This place is trash, and all they do is put their customers at risk by spraying toxic chemicals while not following proper safety procedures. They just ruined dozens of cars by failing to put up tarps to catch the overspray from the paint stripper they were spraying. They also caused serious injury to people and they show no consideration or remorse for that. They should be fined and shut down so they can't ever harm another person or cause damage to personal property because of negligence
Very dedicated company. They see the project through and through. Their team is very educated and knowledgeable on the topic of construction. They provide amazing buildings and they have an amazing team. Staff members are kind and friendly.
