DelPrete Home Improvements is a Middleborough exterior remodeling contractor — roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, skylights and decks — working across southeastern Massachusetts and the South Shore. Reviewers who hired it before 2026 knew it as Beantown Home Improvements; several current reviews note the name change explicitly. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, number 178728, is verified active with the state registry in the company's own name, and it is BBB accredited with an A+ grade. The review record is one of the deepest in the corpus for its trade: 411 written reviews from 2017 to 2026 across nine sources, including 532 Google ratings at 5 stars and 235 ratings at 5.0 on each of Angi and HomeAdvisor — the same syndicated corpus, so those two are one body of feedback rather than two. Aggregate sentiment across the reviews sits at 0.88, and of the 64 reviews in the last six months, none are negative. What customers describe is unusually consistent. Roof replacements land in a single day — one reviewer counted about seven hours start to finish including cleanup, another had a two-layer tear-off, new skylights and a shed roof done in a day. Crews start early, work long days, and clean up nightly; one homeowner who had cement board siding installed said the crew picked up every stray nail, another said the yard was left clean each evening. Project managers are named again and again — Derek, Dave J, Brian, Jim Ewell — and reviewers credit them with day-to-day updates, drone progress photos and walk-throughs at both ends of the job. The technical picture is more than shingles. One roofing customer said the company treated attic ventilation as seriously as the shingles, looking at the roof as a system; another had all the plywood replaced because of mould before the new roof went on. On the siding side the depth is in James Hardie fiber cement — 100-year-old wood shingles swapped for Hardie shingles, whole-house Hardie plank, Hardie plus ProVia windows and Owens Corning roofing on a full exterior renovation. Crews also catch and fix what they find: rot under a slider, rot behind old gutters, discontinued custom-profile siding sourced and collected on a weekend. The honest caveats are small and about scheduling, not workmanship. Two reviewers noted the job took a while to start, both attributing the wait to a hard winter, and one flagged that the season pushed the start date back — the work itself still satisfied them. For a homeowner, the practical questions are start-date realism in the winter months and getting the ventilation and rot-repair scope written into the contract, since both come up repeatedly in what customers praise.
“603 of 606 would recommend”
““The biggest thing I teach all members of my crew is that if anything arises, such as breaking something or making a mistake, is to inform the homeowner immediately,” says James DelPrete, CEO of Beantown Home Improvements in Halifax, Massachusetts.”
We had Delprete replace the roof as well as a few windows. The work they did was excellent. We ran into an unexpected issue and they resolved it where most companies would have walked away. We highly recommend them! Their professionalism and integrity is second to none.
We did our homework before choosing a roofing company. We first met with Couto Construction and quickly realized the appointment felt more like a high-pressure sales presentation than a roof inspection. Later we found out they’re owned by Infinity Home Services, a private equity firm, which honestly explained a lot. We also met with Marios, who used to be family owned, but is also now backed by private equity as well. Same pushy approach. Capital Construction came out too, but their pricing felt inflated and the whole thing felt like a big sales machine. Then we met James from DelPrete Home Improvements — completely different experience. He did a full, detailed inspection of our roof instead of sitting at our table for three hours trying to “close” us. The pricing was very reasonable and transparent. What really stood out was their lifetime workmanship guarantee on top of the manufacturer’s warranty. It’s clear they focus on customers, not shareholders. There’s a reason they’re rated so highly.
Just had the 100 year old wood shingles on our home replaced with Hardie Shingles. The DelPrete team was just amazing! Everything was coordinated perfectly from the dumpster delivery to the materials delivery. The crew showed up right on time and didn't stop working for 5 days to get the job done. They cleaned up and put away all of their equipment every evening making for a very clean job site. The project manager was in contact with me throughout the entire process and kept me up to date on the progress of the crew. They did an amazing job and made a 100 year old house look brand new! I couldn't be happier with this company.
I want to thank DelPrete for great customer service. I always knew what was happening. Follow-ups were given as needed. Rick and Derek were great! Office personnel were pleasant and accomodating. I had a timeframe for work completion and DelPrete completed it with time to spare. They even gave me resources for other work I needed done on my home that was not in their purview. Thank you so much! Diane F.
Our gutters hadn’t been cleaned in years, and the team made them look brand new. Fast, professional, and reliable service!
