Designers Metalcraft is based in East Bridgewater, MA, and its website says it has been in business 50 years. A 2009 article on modernmetals.com said it was established in 1955 and works on projects for industries including commercial lighting, automotive, defense, electronics, medical, furniture and signage. A 2010 article on ctemag.com described it as a job shop that laser cuts sheet metal, offering prototyping and production of component parts to complete assemblies. The same reviewer said that when they called about the rest of the 80', they were told the owner had gone on vacation and was the only person who knew how to roll the metal, and wrote that they would not recommend the company. Its Better Business Bureau grade is A+, and Google shows 3★ from 2 ratings.

We called to have a metal job done and was given a time frame for the work to be completed as they knew we were on a deadline. After numerous calls and being told they hadn't started we asked when the sample piece would be ready. I was told it would be the following day. This now had us out a week from when it was needed. We got the sample piece late Friday afternoon. We had the rest of the 80' that was suppose to be taken care of, upon calling Monday morning 05/20/2024 we were told the owner went on vacation and he is the only person who knows how to roll the metal. Upon speaking to the shop manager he was confused and had no idea how to handle the situation. I explained we had called over two weeks ago and were told we would have all the metal the following week. Now we are two weeks past and the customers had a trip planned and they are very disgruntled. His response was I don't know what to do I can try and roll it myself but I don't know how to use the machine. I then stated this was poor communication and the owner should never had agreed to do the job if he had intentions on leaving us in a lurch and going on vacation. As a fellow small business when we say to customers we will have a unit ready we make sure we do our absolute best to have the job finished. To not call us and communicate that you cant meet the deadline is a poor decision on the owners half. I wouldn't recommend this company at all.
