Desire Construction Inc, Masonry Contractor & Patios

Reviewers keep naming the same person behind the work: Fernando Guimaraes, who owns the Framingham, Massachusetts masonry and patio contractor Desire Construction and, according to reviewers, shows up in person, quotes jobs fast, and sees them through himself. The company's own site says it's been in business 10 years — though the Better Business Bureau lists 12 years and Thumbtack lists 16, so accounts of when it started don't agree. Google gives the company 37 five-star ratings, and Thumbtack rates it 4.8 from 33 reviews with Top Pro status held since 2018; the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. The written reviews back that up across a decade. In a 2024 review, a customer said Desire gave an estimate within an hour and a more accurate price the next day, after a bad experience with a different hardscape company; another 2024 review described the crew arriving early and working late to finish a set of patio steps; and a third, also from 2024, said neighbors kept complimenting a new retaining wall. A customer who's hired Desire repeatedly over six years said the crew has built stairs, walls, and most recently a patio, always to the same standard. Recent work includes a paver patio rebuild one reviewer called "craftsmen"-level, and a 2025 backyard job adding a patio, sitting wall, and walkway. Older accounts carry the same detail — a 2016 Thumbtack review described a paver walkway and repaired cement stairs that "came out great," and a 2023 review recounted Fernando rebuilding a stone pillar light fixture at what the customer called a fair price. Pricing comes up often and favorably: several reviewers across different years called it fair or reasonable, and more than one said they planned to hire Desire again. The company describes itself as insured and lists Framingham, Natick, and Ashland as its service area; its Houzz listing covers a wider stretch of MetroWest towns. For a paver patio, retaining wall, or stone or brick masonry job in the MetroWest area, this is a well-established, consistently reviewed choice; get the quote and timeline in writing and confirm insurance coverage before the crew starts.
