In a June 2018 BuildZoom review, the owners of a house Diamond Builders built said it was crumbling from the inside out, that they had spent thousands to fix the work, and that they sued and won. Diamond Builders Corp works from 12 Post Office Square in Sharon, and its listings describe custom homes and home remodeling — three projects shown on Houzz, one on BuildZoom, filed by the BBB as a general contractor across two Massachusetts locations. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #176304, is expired on the state registry, and BuildZoom shows that same number as inactive. The written accounts run from 2016 to 2021, and money and schedules come up as often as workmanship. A February 2016 BuildZoom reviewer said the agreed quote was in the contract and that Dmitry then demanded an additional 20% with no changes to specs or requirements. A December 2017 buyer, the first into a new subdivision, wrote that they were a year delayed and put it down to a lack of financing to build. A February 2021 reviewer said the company uses the cheapest materials, does not stand behind its product, and that the work immediately starts to fall apart. A November 2020 Google reviewer was blunter, calling the company frauds marketing themselves as builders, and a July 2018 one called it the most horrific building experience they had had. Google sits at 2.1 stars from seven ratings, BuildZoom at 2.5 from five. Not everything here is negative. In a June 2019 BuildZoom review, a homeowner said a kitchen-and-bathrooms remodel arrived on time and well done, adding that they were "not the cheapest guys around, but do what promise." A buyer's agent, writing in April 2018, said Dmitry walked their buyers through the purchase of a new construction home, did what he said he would, and delivered it on time. The BBB grades the company A+, though it is not BBB accredited. For a new home or a full remodel, the registration is the first thing to settle — the state registry has #176304 expired — and the contract is the second: a fixed price with a written change-order process, dated milestones, and a warranty that names who comes back and when. The one remodel described here went well; the jobs that went badly were new construction.
