Dino & Rocco's Balesano Waterproofing & Masonry fixes wet basements, and one recent customer put the result plainly: just through a nor'easter, and the basement is dry. The company says it has been in business 31 years. Its website lists basement waterproofing, perimeter drainage systems and French drains, foundation crack repair, sump pumps, yard drainage and masonry, and names a service area that includes West Hartford, Hartford, Newington, New Haven, Fairfield and Middlesex. On Google it holds 4.7 stars from 40 ratings. A customer who had dealt with basement water issues for 40 yrs said Rocco observed the affected areas, diagnosed the root cause and recommended a solution, and that the cellar has stayed completely dry through 2026's heavy rain. That customer said they also repaired a paver patio and reconstructed a natural stone walkway. A customer whose foundation crack had not been repaired correctly said Rocco and his team came out to excavate and fix it, then redid the sump pump basin and sealed the below grade wall ties. Rocco walked one customer through the process before starting and took progress photos of the steps he took. One customer said they arrived within a day of calling to assess and performed the waterproofing work within a week. A sump pump installation took one day, one customer said, and the area was left clean. In a 2025 review, a customer who collected three bids said the company's proposal to fix leaking foundation cracks was the least cost and carried a 25-year warranty. That 2025 customer said the 4-man team, including Rocco, arrived at the exact quoted time and completed the work in 4.5 hours. A 2023 customer said two sets of drains and a sump pump were dug in the basement and trenched into the yard in a two day stretch, and that not one drop of water got into the basement in a giant rainstorm. A 2025 reviewer who works as a district property manager said they used Dino and Rocco's at apartment properties for foundation and basement water intrusion issues. A recent customer who said they paid $17k in full wrote that Rose refused to send a paid-in-full receipt until her bank released the funds; the customer needed that receipt for a mortgage company. A 2026 customer said they had called many times about earlier basement work with no response, and that they later hired another company. One recent customer felt the job was a little pricey but called them very easy to work with. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0647875, as active, held by Dino and Roccos Balesano Waterproofing LLC.
It saddens me that l have to change my 5 star review. I paid for my service in full. Once the check cleared l reached out to Dino & Rocco and asked Rose to send me a paid in full receipt. The money has cleared out of my account, however, she refused stating her bank has not released it. When her bank releases the funds then she will send me my receipt. The check cleared last week. Her bank holding the funds has nothing to do with me. I understand the first check did not clear because a payment came through for something else. I rectified it immediately. I wrote another check that Rose picked up from my home and there were zero issues. I feel she is retaliating against me for an accident. Mind you l paid $17k. I needed the receipt to send to my mortgage company for them to release payment to me. I told Rose that’s fine l have the estimate and the cancelled checks which l pulled and sent. Rose it sucks you pulled this stunt. You can keep your receipt. I won’t ever recommend your company. I never heard of a company retaliating against a customer. You were paid in full and you should have given me a receipt. Rose you are being petty. I will inform all the people l recommend to find a company that values their customers. A $39 payment to Legal Shield came out as l explained to her. I fixed it the same day. She volunteered to come to my house to pick the new check up. I would have mailed it or dropped it off. I left it in the box as requested. She never let me know she grabbed it, but l checked the box and everything was fine. I am not sure what makes her feel playing this receipt game is ok. It’s not! You were paid $17 thousand dollars and chose retaliation!
I’ve been dealing with significant basement water issues for 40 yrs. Previous contractors had merely put band-aids on the wounds. That was not the case with the Balesano team. Rocco observed the affected areas, asked meaningful questions, immediately diagnosed the root cause and recommended a solution. With the significant amount of heavy rain experienced throughout 2026’s spring, summer and fall months, the cellar has been completely dry. They also repaired a paver patio and reconstructed a natural stone walkway which came out beautiful. I highly recommend them.
Dino & Rocco's was a delight to work with. They arrived at my home within a day of calling to assess what I needed, and performed the work within a week. They did a great job performing the waterproofing job and appreciate their great warranty they provide. I would highly recommend!
They left my stairs looking a million times better than they were before. Fair pricing and got it done quick. Will have them back for my rear patio in the spring.
