Dow's Outdoor Services, Inc. is a tree, landscaping and winter-services contractor based in Weare, NH, founded and run by James Dow. The company's own site says it has over 42 years of experience serving Weare and the surrounding Hillsborough County area, though tenure claims vary elsewhere — a Yelp listing says 48 years and BBB records show the business started in 1987, which is 39 years. The company holds a BBB A+ letter grade, though it is not BBB accredited. A 2026 customer of nearly 30 years describes the crew as professional, reliable and hardworking, showing up on time and leaving the property clean after tree work. Google shows a 4.6-star average from 7 ratings. Not every job has gone smoothly: a 2022 reviewer reported that a tree the crew took down fell onto their garage, causing broken rafters and sheathing, that the damage wasn't disclosed until they discovered it themselves days later, and that the repair offer made was only $100. Anyone booking tree work with Dow's should ask directly how the company handles accidental property damage during a job, given that reported experience.

We've been using Dow Tree Service for nearly 30 years, and they have been our go to tree company the entire time. They came out last week once again, and as always, they did a fantastic job. The crew is professional, reliable, hardworking, and always does outstanding work. They arrive on time, work safely and efficiently, and leave the property spotless when they're finished. It's hard to find a company that consistently delivers such excellent service year after year, and Dow Tree Service has never let us down. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, dependable, high quality tree work. Thank you for another great job!
Jim just completed an amazing restoration in our log cabin. After 50 years, we knew we had some wall damage and some critters and Jim faced our challenges head on. He devised a plan to preserve as much of the original pine walls as possible and integrated the new pieces beautifully. He identified the root of the problem - leaks at the chimney - and he had it sealed and patched fast. We then made a surprise discovery - our old log beam mantle had rotted through. We had no idea how we would find a piece of wood that would match the cabin and Jim worked magic. In two hours he found a gorgeous salvage mantle replacement - amazing. I can’t recommend them more highly thoughtful, hard working and collaborative. He solved all of our problems and we plan to work with him as our go to crew from now on.
Took several trees down on my property. Employees were on time and courteous. Reason for 2 star rating is a tree was dropped onto my garage causing extensive damage. ( 2 broken rafters, broken plank sheathing.) Instead of letting me know what had happened, they left it for me to discover a few days later. When notified of the issue, I was offered an insultingly low cash offer for repairs ($100.) Will not use this service again
