DPS Contractors LLC.

DPS Contractors LLC is a Rhode Island painting and wall-repair outfit run day to day by a man customers call Gary, and most of its written reviews date from 2017 and 2018, with a few from 2023. HomeAdvisor and Angi each show 4.2 stars from 37 ratings. The happiest customers describe the way Gary ran the job. In a March 2017 review, a customer who collected six estimates said his was the only one sent by email with insurance information, that he spent about half an hour walking the space, and that the two-week job finished on time with the crew cleaning up daily. A June 2017 customer said DPS patched the giant holes another contractor left after pulling out a three-section medicine cabinet, and a July 2017 customer needed a substantial part of the house painted in a very small window and got it done. In a September 2023 review, a customer said DPS was the only one who responded to their request and finished in a timely way; an October 2023 customer said Gary tracked down parts to repair a kitchen drawer, a small job they had trouble getting anyone to take. The complaints are about finish quality. In an April 2018 review, a customer hired DPS to drywall a hallway and small bedroom, said the crew showed up late every day and left shoddy work and a messy site, and fired the company after the third day, saying most of the drywall had to be removed and reinstalled. Another April 2018 customer listed paint runs and splatter, a missing finish coat and bumps in the finish, with issues remaining after one round of corrections, though Gary offered to send the crew back. A May 2017 customer who expected a plaster skim coat said joint compound was used instead, while calling the work itself excellent. The Rhode Island registry lists home improvement contractor registration GC-40024, held by DPS Contractors LLC, as expired.
