A spring broke on a cold February night, a 2026 Google customer wrote, and after a $400 estimate for a custom-made part, the tech found a standard spring in his truck and repaired it for $150. That is the kind of call DSI Door Services takes: on HomeAdvisor, the Portland, Maine company describes itself as installing, servicing and selling residential and commercial overhead doors, and its website claims 35 years in business. The website lists service towns including Bridgton, Brunswick, Cape Elizabeth, Falmouth and Freeport. A 2026 customer said Door Services replaced both springs on a garage door at their rental within a few hours. A 2025 customer said Bob and his team found a problem with the motor of a garage door that was not closing properly, then replaced it. A 2025 customer hired DSI to replace the top panel of a garage door. A 2018 HomeAdvisor customer who could not open their garage door said Mary scheduled a same-day service, Bob showed up within 40 minutes of the call and had the repair done in 30 minutes. A 2016 customer replaced three garage doors, with new tracks, springs and two openers; one technician did the install over a day and a half, and when one of the new openers became noisy a few days later, they came back and swapped in a new unit. A 2014 customer said that in January 2012 the tech replaced both springs on a 16 x 7 fiberglass door within about 45 minutes and adjusted the door close height. Some jobs went less smoothly. A 2025 Google customer said the installer was polite but the business side did not go as smoothly, and the job cost more and more money to finish. A 2020 HomeAdvisor customer said that after 2 days the door started making noises again. A 2018 customer said a new remote they were sold stopped working once the worker left, and when they called to complain, the company wanted to charge them $142 again. A 2017 customer said the installer left loose ends and the next day a torsion link wire came off the pulley, and that DSI fixed the issue that same day. On Google the company holds a 4.8-star average from 37 ratings, and on HomeAdvisor a 4.9-star average from 44 ratings.
A spring broke on a cold February night. When I described it, I was originally provided with a $400 estimate for a custom-made torsion string. When the tech came out, he quickly discovered it was a standard spring that he had in his truck and repaired it for $150. I really appreciate their honesty and responsiveness.
What fabulous customer service! I called with a broken spring on a garage door at our rental, and Door Services replaced both springs within a few hours. They said when one goes, the other isn't far behind. I so appreciate that level of diligent care.
I hired DSI to replace the top panel of my garage door. I recommend them for their customer service and friendly technicians.
The installer was very nice. Very polite. The business side do not go as smooth. I felt like they did not live up to their word. And it costs more money and more money to finish the job.
I recently had an issue with my garage door not closing properly and contacted DSI Doors for assistance. Bob and his team responded promptly and quickly identified the problem with the motor. They replaced it efficiently and had the door working perfectly in no time. Their service was professional, timely, and of excellent quality. I highly recommend DSI Doors for anyone in need of garage door repair or maintenance services.
