E.B. Rotondi & Sons has been working out of the same Stoneham yard for generations — the BBB dates its file to 1932, counts 94 years in business, and names A. Joseph Rotondi as president over about 20 employees. The work is heavy and mostly underground: municipal water and sewer, underground utilities, site work and demolition on the commercial side, and for homeowners driveway paving, retaining walls, tennis courts and landscape design. The detailed accounts on file are about pipes more than pavement. In November 2024 a customer had a broken water line replaced under their driveway, with the trench backfilled and the driveway repaired the same day. In September 2024 a homeowner renovating in Medford upsized a 3/4-inch water service to an inch and had the sewer line cameraed and partly replaced, crediting Mike Rotondi and his team. A December 2022 BuildZoom account describes the same kind of call — a sewer drain line running house to street that had clogged and overflowed more than once. The one recent complaint is worth reading before hiring. In July 2026 a customer who paid for a sewer camera inspection that explicitly promised a USB copy of the video said it never arrived, despite multiple follow-ups, and was told by Mike Jr. that the footage came out blurry. They gave three stars and noted the crew was polite and the work itself was completed — a follow-through problem rather than a workmanship one, but if the video is the thing you're buying, get the deliverable in writing. Google sits at 4.6 across 10 ratings, and the BBB gives an A+ letter grade without accreditation. For a driveway, a failing water service or a sewer line that has to come up, this is a long-established local crew with recent, specific jobs to point to. Nail down the scope and every deliverable — inspection footage included — before they dig.
“The sewer drain line from my house to the street was clogged and had overflowed multiple times.”
“the Planning Board voted unanimously to continue the public hearing on a petition from the longtime owners of 21 Manison St., who had not had an opportunity to amend their proposal to reflect requests from the public works department.”
“Request: Contractor/Drainlayer License”
Paid for a sewer camera inspection that explicitly promised a USB with the inspection video. The crew was polite and completed the work, but I never received the USB despite multiple follow‑ups. I was told (by Mike Jr.) that the video taken was blurry and that they would come out to retake it. Then I was told the camera was at the shop been repaired. I paid in full and am still waiting for the company to deliver the promised video. The work was done 2 months ago. I would like the USB for insurance purposes.
Mike and his crew did a fantastic job replacing a broken water line under a driveway and were able to fill trench and repair driveway same day. Will definitely be my go to in the future.
I could not recommend these guys more. If I could leave Mike Rotondi and his team 10 stars I would. For context, I had to update my 3/4 in water line in Medford to 1in when doing my home renovation and camera my sewer line, which needed to partly be replaced. Mike not only offered a great price but left the place cleaned up and did a hell of a patch job. Even my neighbor commented on it. He was also a pleasure to work with and reminds me of my buddies. Months later, my plumber told me there was a collapse in the sewer line at another location. This was preventing me from moving in after a 10 month renovation project. Mike sent his crew immediately, dug up the location 6 ft deep and fixed the issue. Didn’t even ask me for anything. There are not many contractors like Rotondi and Sons these days. Mike seriously, thank you so much, you are the absolute man.
