EcoClean is a drain and sewer company: its own site lists drain cleaning, hydro jetting, sewer cleaning and sewer repair, names a service area that starts with Scarborough, and says it offers 24/7 emergency service. A 2014 customer with sewage backed up in the basement wrote that they called EcoClean at 3:15 and the company was at the house by 4:00, opened the clean outs, diagnosed the problem and performed some cleanup, with everything fixed by 5:00. A 2015 customer wrote that the technician, Keith, arrived within an hour of the call about a blocked sewer line, and that the office later credited a 10% coupon the customer had forgotten to use. A 2019 customer wrote that Zoom drain came for a second opinion on a frozen septic drain, used the camera to find the problem and fixed it with jets of hot water and a roto rooter. A recent customer wrote that the work was done but called the fee unreasonable. In a 2022 review, a customer wrote that the tech did not unclog a tub drain after trying a plunger and a snake. A 2020 customer wrote that the technician arrived over 1 hour after the time given by the office, had to return to the shop, and objected to the bill for cleaning one pipe with no blockage.
Work done, but just unreasonable charged fee:
I don't like to write negative posts. But you replied asking why 1 star. So I used zoom drain 1 time. I now know zoom drain bought out eco clean. I was told when i called eco clean, it's zoom drain with eco clean costomers. Therefore I gave a 1 star. I paid a lot of $ (I believe $240) to zoom drain, and the tech did not unclog my tub drain. He tried a plunger and then a snake for a few minutes and when he hit what appears to be a 90 in the plumbing about 8' in and could not get his snake by it, he said that's all I could do. Zoom drain does not do plumbing, they do clogged toilets and clogged drains.
I got an appointment next morning. They are open 24/7. Tanner was good and efficient, put a camera down the drain and found the blockage. Used his snake to clear it out. Running clear now. There is a pipe sag 1/2 way down the driveway, which will have to be dug out and repaired and replace the pipe. Waiting for their estimate.
Technician arrived over 1 hour after the time given by office. Did not know the job specs that were given when appointment was set up. Had to return to shop as tech did not come prepared. When settling bill tech said $350. We explained that we should not have to pay road time for shop run. He called office and came back and said the cost was $350, taking the shop run off the cost. We stated that was the same cost. Tech said it was $75 for the shop run making the bill $425, so minus the $75 the bill was now $350. The cleaning of one pipe with no blockage should not be $425. Tech wore mask 2 out of the 3 times we conversed but the mask was not CDC approved, which means the customer isn’t protected. I think EcoClean needs to improve its communication with clients and needs to improve field tech and office communications.
Awesome Their technician was extremely patient, knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing as he performed his task.
