Eric Palm's business is one thing done a lot: making leaky houses tight. Across twenty sampled permits from 2021 to 2025 — Methuen, Braintree, Milton, Manchester, Newburyport — nearly every job is the same shape. Air-seal the attic and basement, blow cellulose into the walls to R-13 and the attic to R-49 or R-60, weather-strip the doors, add attic ventilation. Several pair that with stripping and reshingling an asphalt roof, and two covered replacement windows or a sliding door. Six of the sampled jobs were in Methuen itself, valued between $8,000 and $22,000. The trading entity is Atlantic Weatherization LLC at 61r Jefferson Ave in Salem, sharing the same phone as the permit profile. BBB names Eric Palm as owner and records the business as started in 1994, incorporated as an LLC in 2004, with 20 employees. He is also listed as a member of the Salem Chamber of Commerce. The customer account of this work is a single, dated one. In February 2017, a homeowner who was hesitant when told the crew would drill holes around the entire house wrote that the holes were plugged with wood, the job took about two days, and the house — drafty even after new windows went in — was noticeably warmer afterwards. That one review is what BuildZoom's 5.0 rests on, so it is a number to read as one person's account rather than a track record. Two things to read carefully before calling. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts construction supervisor licence, #CS-087977, and shows it active as of May 2026 — that is BuildZoom's own badge rather than a state-registry confirmation, and a construction supervisor licence is issued to the individual, not to the LLC; no home improvement contractor registration appears on the page, so ask what registration covers your specific job. And treat BuildZoom's written blurb with suspicion: its talk of kitchen and bathroom remodels, custom carpentry and colonial properties matches nothing in the permit history, and its 'twenty-two years' contradicts the 1994 start date BBB records. If your problem is a cold house, this is a crew that does that particular work at volume — 1,580 permits on file. Ask for insulation references from the last two years and get the scope, R-values and patching spelled out in the contract.

I was a bit hesitant at first because I was told that they would have to drill holes around the entire house. I did have the work done and the holes were plugged with wood. I didn't have a lot of interaction with the guys because I work during the day. It was done pretty quickly. I believe 2 days. Since I've had the insulation done, I've noticed a huge difference. My house was very drafty and installing new windows didn't help much. This seemed to have helped a great deal.

What does a roof replacement cost in Greater Boston?

Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from Eric W Palm. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.

A square is 100 sq ft of roof surface — bigger than the floor plan because of pitch and overhangs.

Estimated range

$9,000 – $18,600

Typical roofing project around $13,800
