Sixty permitted jobs, and the ones that stand out are not houses: a public library renovation in Marblehead, a fire station in East Falmouth, a field house in North Attleboro, a gas line to the generator at Plymouth's wastewater plant. Ev Mechanical runs out of 169 Kendall St in Walpole and turns up in municipal permit files about as often as residential ones. The house side is real too. Permits pulled between 2020 and 2025 cover kitchen and bath plumbing in Quincy, Hingham, Milton, Brookline and West Newton — a sewer ejector pump and shower valve, a second-floor bathroom added, new kitchen drain and water piping. Eight of the sixty projects landed in the last three years. What customers have written is another matter. The whole written record is one BuildZoom review from June 2020, five stars and six words: "Erald is very professional." That is not much to weigh, and it is why the rating here stays cautious no matter how solid the permit trail looks. The licence picture needs a phone call. BuildZoom lists five records for the company and flags every one of them "License Not Verified": two different Massachusetts plumbing-business numbers (4770 and 4398), a plumber's number (16600), the number 4770 a second time under "Electrical Business" marked inactive and at one point cancelled, and a City of Newton plumbing-contractor registration also cancelled. In the same breath the page states it has no active licence on file for the company. None of that is a verification, in either direction. Best call for plumbing and gas work where a permit and an inspection are part of the job — this is a company used to pulling them. Before booking, ask for the licence number and the licence-holder's name directly and check them against the Massachusetts plumbing and gas board yourself, and ask for two or three recent homeowner references, since the public paper trail is much deeper than the customer one.
