An old farmhouse built in 1812 needed an electric panel upgrade and a full oil-fired boiler, and a 2026 customer described how Everett E. Houghton Co. Inc. handled both. That customer said Steve walked the property for the electric upgrade, and the electricians were in and out quickly once the electric company dropped the new line. Mike, another project manager with the firm, then pitched an upgradable single to double boiler system, the customer said. The team demo'd the old boiler and tank, created concrete pads for the new tank and boilers and installed the new system, and after almost 6 months and a full hard winter that customer reported zero issues. The company's New Hampshire electrician licence, 0241C, is active on the state registry, with Everett E. Houghton Co., INC as the holder. A published obituary describes it as a plumbing and electrical business started in 1948, and the company's own site claims 78 years in business. A 2025 customer said Kyle suggested trying the company's flush cart on a client's failed radiant heat basement flooring, rather than jackhammering the concrete, and that it was a complete success. In a 2025 review, a customer said technicians showed up within an hour of an early-morning call when their water was out. A 2024 customer said the company sent someone right away when their water pressure tanked, and installed a new water heater and furnace five business days after they agreed to Mike N.'s quote. A 2023 customer said Chris came to work on a leaking shower drain pipe, found electrical concerns near the work area and helped coordinate Houghton's electrical team and a referral for a carpenter, who all came out the same day. In a 2023 review, a customer listed emergency calls, a new hot water heater, upgraded pumps and a whole septic replacement with some regrading in the yard. On Google, the company holds 4.9 stars from 16 ratings.

Above and beyond to take great care of us! Truly a pleasure to work with
We bought this old farmhouse to begin preparing for retirement in 15 years and leaving something of a legacy to pass down. The place needed an electric panel upgrade, and a full oil-fired boiler. I called many local guys, then we talked to the folks at E.E. Houghton! Once we met them, we were all in! It’s an OLD farmhouse built in 1812 which hasn’t had the luxury of ANY upgrades for decades. That being said our vision includes mixing this hand built old-world property with new world technology, materials and systems, so of course that meant an upgraded 200 amp service with sub-panels galore and a brand new heating system to keep those cold New England winters outside where they belong! We first talked with Steve about the electric upgrade. It was such a cool experience. He listened to our needs and plans and as we walked through the place he offered up some local knowledge and information regarding what he knew about the property historically. He agreed with my ideas and accommodated us in every way… The electricians were in and out quickly once the electric company dropped the new line. SUPER happy with that initial step! Then it was time to schedule the boiler consult and we got a visit from Mike another project manager with the firm. Similar to our experience with Steve, Mike listened to our thoughts and concerns. He quickly deciphered the need for redundancy and over doing most everything and pitched us an idea that I hadn’t thought of. “What if we install a UPGRADABLE single to double boiler system that can grow with you and tackle the load of our winters while enabling you continue with the property’s upgrades in comfort?” “LET’S GO!!!!” I replied So the team came and demo’d the old boiler and tank, created concrete pads for the new tank and double boilers to call home, and then installed the new system with a beautiful upgradable board which holds an array of pipes, controllers and valves to guide the heat throughout the facility. I feel that the modularity and upgradability of this system is the real gem to this install and MAN does the team’s skillset shine on this section of the job! It has been almost 6 months since these installations were began AND a full hard winter; we had ZERO issues and are very happy with our choice. Overall, we are proud to have been able to get these folks here to make our place our HOME! So If you’ve got work to do and are looking for a professional outfit to help create your own slice of heaven, E.E. houghton Company is your best bet! Their attention to detail and workmanship REALLY are visible if you’re into more than just the functionality of the work!
Fantastic all around! I have a client whose radiant heat basement level flooring had failed (black onyx tubing🙈) and were either going to have to jackhammer the concrete up or put in a whole new system😱. After a quick response, Kyle suggested trying their flush cart even though he couldn’t guarantee it would be successful. We took the chance and it was a complete success!!! Picture shows the caked up water that was in the system. Overall wonderful experience, will be a repeat customer!
