The actual trade is narrower than "general contractor" suggests: masonry restoration, chimney repair, waterproofing for basement walls, concrete steps, decorative retaining walls, and brick and stone walkways and patios. Two things are worth pinning down before you call. Sources disagree about who owns the business — BuildZoom names Keith Snowden as owner of record while the BBB names David J. Harris as owner and president — and about where it sits, with BuildZoom and the BBB putting 17 Friendship Road in Mattapan and the state registry and Blue Book putting the same address in Hyde Park. Three different phone numbers circulate across those profiles. Its record is a paper one: registrations, permits and a self-written profile rather than homeowner accounts. If you have older brickwork that needs repointing or a wall rebuilt, this is a firm whose registration and permit history you can check yourself — ask who will sign the contract, which number reaches the office, and for the addresses of the last two restoration jobs so you can go look at them.
