A tree came down on a house around 9pm on July 4th, breaking a skylight and holing the roof, with 1.5 inches of rain on the way; in a July 2026 Google review, the homeowner wrote that Sal was there within an hour of returning the call on a long-weekend Sunday, and by 5pm the skylight was covered, wet insulation replaced and new shingles down. Neither leaked that night. Fairfield Roofing is a Bridgeport roofer with 4.9★ from 63 Google ratings, and its website lists 24/7 emergency service. Fast leak calls are what customers write about. After the July 21, 2026 storm, a reviewer who manages multiple properties said Sal answered the phone himself, arrived at 9:00 the next morning, and over six hours his crew reframed a section of roof, removed a problem gutter configuration and installed copper flashing, proposing a repair rather than a new roof. A January 2025 customer who called on new years day had Sal there the next morning, and a December 2022 reviewer said he drove over on a Saturday and did not charge his usual emergency price because the fix was easy. A February 2023 review says he fixed several small leaks in a 1937 copper roof on the spot. Replacements come up too: in an August 2024 review, Sal found multiple leaks within two hours of the call, and the crew replaced the roof within a week; a November 2024 customer had roof, gutters and flashing replaced. A July 2018 Angi reviewer wrote that a new worker who knew nothing about roofs left the roof leaking worse than ever. Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.6★ from 30 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0644455, is active.
During the severe storm on July 21, 2026, the rear room of my home sustained significant water intrusion due to a roofing failure. The volume of rainfall was so substantial that the gutters overflowed, allowing water to back up and penetrate the roof system. By the time I discovered the issue, there were approximately three inches of standing water on the floor. Fortunately, the damage was limited to a few boxes of documents. My first instinct was to search Google for roofing contractors. I proceeded to call the companies that appeared in the search results. The first five calls were answered by AI systems rather than actual people. On the fifth call, I finally reached a live person, but it quickly became apparent that she lacked the experience to handle what was clearly an urgent roofing emergency, so I ended the call. My sixth call was to Fairfield Roofing, and I only wish I had found them sooner. Had they ranked higher in the search results, I would have saved myself considerable time and frustration. The phone was answered immediately by a real person—Sal, the owner. I explained the situation, and without hesitation he said, “I’ll be there tomorrow morning at 9:00.” The next morning, Sal arrived exactly on time with his crew. After inspecting the roof, we discussed whether the damage could be repaired or whether a full roof replacement would be necessary. Rather than trying to sell me an entirely new roof, Sal proposed a repair solution that only someone with decades of experience would have identified. It was practical, cost-effective, and exactly what the situation required. As someone who owns multiple properties and routinely manages construction and renovation projects, I have a solid understanding of what constitutes fair pricing. Sal’s proposal was more than reasonable. I told him that if he could complete the work that day, he had the job. Over the next six hours, his crew reframed a section of the roof, eliminated a problematic gutter configuration, tied the new construction seamlessly into the existing roof, installed the necessary copper flashing, waterproofed the entire area, and completed the shingle installation. The finished product is exceptional. You cannot tell where the original roof ends and the repair begins. More importantly, the leak has been eliminated. The entire experience reinforced something I believe many businesses have forgotten: customers want to deal with knowledgeable people, not automated phone systems. While Sal was working at my home, his phone rang constantly. He personally answered every call, addressed each customer’s questions, and scheduled inspections—many within 24 hours. That level of accessibility and responsiveness is increasingly rare. I’m not suggesting every customer will receive service within 24 hours, especially during busy periods or after major storms. What I can say is that Sal clearly makes every reasonable effort to respond quickly and treat each customer with urgency and respect. Based on my experience, Fairfield Roofing has earned my business for future projects, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. If you’re calling roofing companies and the first thing you encounter is an AI answering service, consider what that says about how the company prioritizes customer service. In my case, the contractor who answered the phone himself was the one who delivered exceptional workmanship, honest pricing, and outstanding service.
Sal, and his crew are amazing! They are honest and affordable! They are a company that you can trust! I hired his company to fix a leak on my roof that I just had replaced. I wish I would have known about him before I hired the other company. I am also hiring him to fix my siding! He has my business from now on, and I will be telling all my family and friends about his company! Thanks Sal!
I can only say a big THANK YOU to Sal and his staff! The process to replace my roof was smooth start to finish. Haven’t worked with an exemplary contractor who stuck to their word in decades!
Sal is amazing. We had a tree fallen on our house on Saturday July 4th around 9pm. The tree broke a skylight and made a few holes in the roof. Jason Harmony of Harmony and Sons removed the tree on Sunday morning. We knew a storm was coming and started looking for somebody to come and cover the broken skylight and patch up the holes before 1.5 inches of rain. Sal returned our call. He was at our place within an hour. By 5pm the skylight was covered, the broken shingles removed, broken section of the wooden board cut off, wet insulation pulled out (it rained all night) and replaced with dry insulation, wooden board, new shingles. Last night as promised we got 1.5 inches of rain. The covered skylight did not leak. The repaired roof did not leak. All of that on a long weekend Sunday. This is everything you need to know. Some people return your call on Monday after 9am. Sal showed up on a long weekend Sunday and got the job done before the storm came. Sal is amazing.
After a nightmare experience with a previous contractor that left me with a leaking roof and constant issues, I struggled to find anyone who wasn’t trying to take advantage of my situation. Sal was a breath of fresh air. He was honest, upfront, and incredibly fair with his pricing. He genuinely looked out for my best interests and fixed the mess the right way. It’s hard to find that kind of integrity these days—I can’t recommend him enough!! Thank you guys!!!!
