A hallway and stairs 21 feet high, and what the customer noticed was that no paint landed where it shouldn't. Writing on Thumbtack in October 2019, he said the care taken on the hardest part of the job showed him this was the real deal. Firehouse Painting works out of Danvers. The owner describes himself as a local firefighter who owns and operates an interior painting business and also takes some exterior work — decks, fences, smaller homes. Angi and HomeAdvisor both list the business as veteran-owned. The written accounts run through 2019 and 2020, and half a dozen of them say a version of the same thing: he came when he said he would. One customer in October 2019 noted he turned up fifteen minutes early to the first meeting, ready for every question and knowledgeable about products and minor wall repairs. A February 2020 customer put it plainly — arrived when they said they would, listened to the painting requests, cleaned up well. The harder rooms are where the detail sits. In March 2020, a homeowner with a very old house, old plaster-and-lath and peeling wallpaper said Mike and his team made a silk purse out of a sow's ear for the two rooms they painted. A December 2019 customer had interior painting plus a lime wash on a brick fireplace and said he was on time every day, neat and clean. In November 2019, another had three rooms and a set of stairs done: he came by first to look at the job, recommended the paint, then worked two days to finish it. Work has a way of growing here. That December 2019 customer added another room mid-job, and an October 2020 customer liked the entryway, hallway and upstairs loft enough to ask for the living room and half bath too — and said he helped pick the colors. The platform pages also disagree about how long he has been at this: Angi and HomeAdvisor each list 17 years of experience, while Thumbtack lists seven years in business. For interior work in an older house — plaster, wallpaper, a stairwell nobody wants to ladder up — this is the kind of painter people call back for the next room. Get the room list and the color choices in writing, and settle what an added room costs before you ask for one.
“I’m a local area firefighter who owns and operates an interior painting business. I also do some exterior painting including decks fences, and smaller homes.”
I am so happy I hired Firehouse painting. He painted our entryway, hallway and up stairs loft area. He was very professional and did an amazing job. He even helped me pick my colors. The painting looked so fantastic, we asked him to do our living room and half bath as well. I highly recommend him and plan to use him again in the near future for additional painting projects.
I just bought a condo and wanted my bedroom painted before I moved in. Found Mike on this app and definitely was not disappointed. His price was fair, he was punctual and did a great job. He even helped me remove a shelving unit I had no idea how to remove. Thanks Mike! I'll be calling you when I'm ready to do the other rooms.
Easy to deal with. Pleasant and courteous. Great work at a fair price. I recommend without reservation.
Michael was great to work with, very responsive and efficient. Would hire again if needed more paint jobs done.
Mike is very friendly and easy-going, and really cares about doing an excellent job on the work he does. We have a very old house with old plaster-and-lath that had old peeling wallpaper. Mike & his team really made a silk purse out of a sow’s ear for the two rooms they painted for us, including a challenging wallpaper job on wall that had some issues, but Mike was extremely conscientious about make sure they were addressed and we were satisfied. He may not have the biggest or longest-established operation, but the value for the money can’t be beat. Thanks for a phenomenal job!
