Fitzgerald Restoration Services is a Walpole-based masonry and building-restoration outfit run by Derrick Fitzgerald, who the company's BBB file says has run it since 2003 and incorporated it in 2008. The work leans historic and structural — repointing, brick and stone restoration, foundation repair, and roofing — for both homeowners and, per one recent review, commercial projects. Recent activity backs that up: three 2026 Google reviews describe a watertight slate roof replacement, thorough masonry-to-roofing work, and — from a reviewer who identifies himself as a licensed construction supervisor with 40 years in the trade — a company he keeps calling back for both large commercial jobs and small repairs. A February 2026 Reddit thread in r/boston described a partial repointing job: pricier than other quotes, the poster said, but the crew matched the mortar and brick to the surrounding wall well. The written record runs deeper but older — HomeAdvisor reviews from 2010 to 2017 describe fair pricing, clean crews, and quality repointing, though a 2011 account mentioned weather delays that frustrated scheduling before the crew finished the job in a two-day rain window. Derrick Fitzgerald's own Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license is active on the state registry. The company's own Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, though, is listed by the state as expired — a separate registration from Fitzgerald's personal license, which is unaffected. The company carries an A+ Better Business Bureau grade (it is not BBB-accredited) with no complaints on file, and BuildZoom scores it in the top 16% of the state's licensed contractors across 11 permitted projects from 2015 to 2025. For masonry, repointing, and roofing work in the Greater Boston area — especially restoration on older brick and stone — Fitzgerald has a long, largely positive history and no reported complaints. Given the state's lapsed company registration, it's worth asking directly about current licensing status and getting a firm quote up front, since at least one recent customer flagged the pricing as being on the higher end.
“I used Fitzgerald Restoration Services for this a while back. They were expensive and won’t be the cheapest quote, but they did a good job of matching the morter to the surrounding area (mine was 1/3 repair rather than full repoint) and replacing with matching bricks where needed.”

Fitzgerald Restoration has done a great job replacing my slate roof. Lots of other improvements to the roof and everything is water tight. Isaiah and team do a great job!
From masonry to roofing these guys are thorough and they deliver real value. Highly recommend.
They repaired a bot
I hired Fitzgerald Restoration Services for a small repair job at my home. They gave me a very fair quote, kept me apprised of scheduling and did a fantastic job on the repairs, which were done exactly to my specifications. My experience with them, from working with their project manager, Steve, to the crew who came to my home to do the work, was great all around. I would definitely hire them again for future jobs.
